Lotta Borg Skoglund, born 13 May 1975 in Stockholm, is a Swedish M.D., Ph.D. and author.

Biography[edit]

Lotta Borg Skoglund got her Ph.D. at Karolinska Institute, Stockholm[1] 2015 on a thesis about ADHD and substance use disorders.[2] She is currently holding a position as Associate Professor at Uppsala University, Department for Women’s and Children’s Health, where she conducts research into ADHD and comorbidity, especially among young women.[3]

She is specialized in psychiatry, addiction, comorbidity and family medicine with a specific focus on ADHD and ADD and in the fields of addiction medicine and neuropsychiatry. Her research has been published in several international scientific journals.[4] She is also known for writing articles and opinion pieces on ADHD research in publications such as Forskning & Framsteg and Läkartidningen.[5][6]

In 2020 Borg Skoglund had her breakthrough as a popular science with the book ADHD Girls to Women: Getting on the Radar (Jessica Kingsley Publishers, published in English 2023).[7] The book has also been translated to Danish[8], Estonian[9] and Korean[10]

Since then Borg Skoglund has been an avid educator on the subject of ADHD in girls and women, and a frequent keynote speaker at national and international conferences. In 2023 she participated in Forskning & Framsteg's Hjärndagen[11] and the Swedish Brain Foundation's[12] Barnhjärnans dag[13] in Stockholm, ADHD Megnartak[14] in Faroe Islands and NeuroShow 2023[15] in Poland, as well as presented research about gender differences in diagnosis and treatment of neuropsychiatric conditions at the Parliament of Denmark.[16]
