Nouryon[2][3][4][5][6][7] [8]is a specialty chemicals company previously known as AkzoNobel Specialty Chemicals spun off AkzoNobel[9] [10]on October 9, 2018. The standalone company's new name was inspired by two of the company’s pioneers, Jan Nourij and Gerrit van der Lande[11].[12]

The company is headquartered in Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Netherlands and operates in over 80 countries including Sweden[13], Brazil[14], Germany[15], Canada[16], the United States[17], India[18], Japan[19] and China[20]

Products[edit]

Nouryon manufactures specialty chemicals for diverse end-markets and geographies such for agriculture and food, cleaning, personal care, packaging, paints and coatings, polymer production, oil and gas, food, pulp and paper, water treatment and transportation[21][22][23][24][25][26][27] . Its portfolio comprises bleaching and oxidizing chemicals and technologies, organic peroxides, specialty polymers, cellulose ethers, surfactants and chelating agents as well as intermediates and includes brands such as Dissolvine, Expancel, Levasil, Trigonox, Thioplast, Eka, Kromasil, Bermocoll, Ferrazone and Berol.

Nouryon has joined the United Nations Global Compact, the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative.[28][29][30][31]
