Revisions to Meet Wikipedia's Standards in draft:Itamar_Harel[edit]

@Broc

Dear Editor,

Thank you for your comments. Following your remarks, extensive changes were made to better meet Wikipedia’s standards:

  1. Following the references you provided, I reviewed the notability guideline for academics and re-edited the entry to meet Wikipedia's criteria. Harel's research has had a significant impact on his scholarly discipline, as demonstrated by independent reliable sources, including review articles in top scientific journals (e.g., Cell, Nature Methods, in references #1-4), as well as leading newspapers such as the New York Times (references #6).
  2. As specified in Wikipedia's notability criteria, several of Harel's discoveries have appeared in especially prestigious and selective academic journals, such as Cell, Nature Aging, and Nature Methods (references #5,10-16).
  3. Criterion #1 can also be satisfied if the person has pioneered or developed a significant new concept, technique, or idea. Harel has developed a genetic platform in the naturally short-lived turquoise killifish, which has had a great impact on the aging field (references #1-4), and he continues to develop genetic tools for this emerging model (references #15,16).
  4. Meeting criterion #2, being the recipient of highly prestigious academic awards and honors at a national and international level - Harel recently received the Krill Award for Scientific Excellence from the Wolf Foundation (#18).
  5. Meeting criterion #3, Harel has been an elected member of a highly selective and prestigious scholarly society or association - the Young Academy of Europe (#19).
  6. I edited both the wording and the writing configuration of the Awards & Honors section, and this part is now worded similarly to the corresponding sections in the entries of other scientists.

I hope these changes address all the raised concerns, and that this draft can now be published.

Kind regards,

Biochen123

@Biochen123 thanks for the work on the page. Please avoid the use of external links in prose, see WP:EL.
Moreover, the page is scattered with WP:PEACOCK terms such as "novel", "pioneered",... which are against the neutrality principle of Wikipedia.
On another note, may I ask what your relation with Alexander Penn is? Note that the use of multiple accounts, also known as sockpuppeting, is not allowed.
Finally, please note that you might have a Conflict of Interest as you work in the same department as the subject of this page. Therefore, per our COI policy, I would recommend going through the articles for creation process. That means pressing the button "submit this page for review" on the draft. An experienced editor will review and, if it fulfills Wikipedia's standards, will move it to mainspace. Broc (talk) 10:30, 2 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Dear editor,
Thank you for your comments!
As you suggested, I fixed the references and removed "peacock" terms.
Of course, I am not AlexanderPenn.
As you can see, currently the page contains my content, whereas the contributions by AP are merely a few additional references.
Finally, my COI is stated in my page. Should I also add the current draft to my COI declaration?
Thank you! 132.64.65.146 (talk) 10:23, 13 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Biochen123 just submit your draft for review by pressing the button on the draft page, if you think it's ready. An experienced editor will then review it. Broc (talk) 08:44, 16 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
