With seven concert tours, American singer Lady Gaga has performed in every populated continent. The recipient of the Pollstar Award for Pop Touring Artist of the Decade (2010s), she has grossed more than $689.5 million in revenue from concert tours and residencies, with an attendance of 6.3 million, making her the fifth woman to cross the half-billion career total tour gross.[1][2][3] Gaga has also performed live at award ceremonies and television shows. She promoted her debut single "Just Dance" through performances at the Miss Universe 2008 and So You Think You Can Dance. She first served as an opening act for the boy band New Kids on the Block and the girl group The Pussycat Dolls,[4] before beginning her own headlining tour, The Fame Ball Tour, which began in March 2009 and ended in September 2009. Following the canceled tour Fame Kills: Starring Kanye West and Lady Gaga with rapper Kanye West,[5] Gaga embarked on her second worldwide concert tour, The Monster Ball Tour. Staged in support of her extended play The Fame Monster (2009), the tour was critically acclaimed and grossed $227.4 million. Gaga also performed songs from the album at award ceremonies—the American Music Awards of 2009, 52nd Annual Grammy Awards and 2010 Brit Awards.

Gaga's second studio album Born This Way (2011) released the eponymous lead single, which she first performed at the 53rd Grammy Awards, where she emerged from an egg-like vessel.[6] She also performed the album's track "You and I" at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards, appearing as her male alter ego Jo Calderone. To promote the album, Gaga began the Born This Way Ball, which was critically and commercially successful. A hip injury that required surgery led Gaga to cancel some of the remaining tour dates. She performed songs from her third studio album Artpop (2013) at ArtRave, a two-day event hosted by her to promote the album. In 2014, she headlined her first residency show, with seven shows at the Roseland Ballroom in Manhattan, New York. Later that year, Gaga began the ArtRave: The Artpop Ball, which received positive reviews, but some criticized it as disjointed. After she and Tony Bennett released the joint album Cheek to Cheek (2014), they embarked on their critically acclaimed Cheek to Cheek Tour from December 2014 to August 2015.

Gaga performed a tribute to The Sound of Music (1965) at the 87th Academy Awards where she sang a medley of songs from the film's soundtrack. The performance, considered one of her best by Billboard, triggered over 214,000 interactions per minute globally on the social networking site Facebook.[7][8] In 2015, Gaga released the song "Til It Happens to You", which she performed at the 2015 Billboard Women in Music, Producers Guild of America Awards 2015 and 88th Academy Awards. In 2016, she sang the US national anthem at Super Bowl 50, performed a tribute to late David Bowie at the 58th Annual Grammy Awards and sang "Million Reasons" at the American Music Awards of 2016. To promote her fifth studio album, Joanne (2016), Gaga embarked on a 3-date tour, called Dive Bar Tour, and on the Joanne World Tour. In February 2017, she performed as the headlining act at the Super Bowl LI halftime show, which became the third most-watched Super Bowl halftime show, with 117.5 million television viewers in the US.[9] A total of 5.1 million tweets were made about Gaga's performance, making her the most tweeted about entertainer in the show's history.[10]

Between 2018 and 2023, Gaga headlined her second residency show, called Enigma + Jazz & Piano, in Las Vegas, Nevada. She also performed "Shallow", the lead single from the soundtrack to A Star Is Born (2018), at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards and 91st Academy Awards. At the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards, Gaga performed a medley of songs from her sixth studio album, Chromatica (2020). In 2022, she embarked on The Chromatica Ball. During the 95th Academy Awards, she sang "Hold My Hand" in a stripped-down rendition.

Year Title Duration Shows
2009 The Fame Ball Tour March 12, 2009 – September 29, 2009 (Worldwide) 83
The Fame Ball Tour, Gaga's debut concert tour, promoted her first album The Fame (2008).[11] Gaga described the tour as a traveling museum show incorporating artist Andy Warhol's pop-performance art concept.[12] Gaga planned the tour while serving as opening act for The Pussycat Dolls.[13] The tour was well received by critics who praised her vocal clarity, fashion sense and ability to pull off theatrics like a professional artist.[14][15]
2009–2011 The Monster Ball Tour November 27, 2009 – May 6, 2011 (Worldwide) 203
The Monster Ball Tour, the second worldwide concert tour by Gaga, was staged in support of her extended play The Fame Monster (2009).[16] The stage of the original show looked like a frame, comparable to that of a hollowed-out television set.[17] From 2010 onwards, the revamped shows had a New York theme and portrayed a story set in the city, where Gaga and her friends got lost and had to find their way to "the Monster Ball".[18] The tour was well received by critics who praised Gaga's vocal abilities, the theatricality of the show, and her sense of style and fashion.[19][20] With an audience of 2.5 million.[21] Gaga received the 2010 Billboard Touring Award for Breakthrough Performer and the Concert Marketing & Promotion Award.[22]
2012–2013 The Born This Way Ball April 27, 2012 – February 11, 2013 (Worldwide) 98
The Born This Way Ball promoted her second studio album Born This Way (2011), and it visited all continents, except Antarctica.[23] The tour was divided into five acts and was imbued with political and social themes such as discrimination, self-love and government control.[24] Critics praised the stage design, Gaga's vocal abilities, different expressive messages and the production team.[25] The tour was also the subject of some controversy by conservatives due to Gaga's support for LGBT rights.[26] With more than twenty dates left, she was forced to cancel the remaining tour dates due to a labral tear of her right hip, which resulted in refunds of over $25 million and 200,000 tickets.[27] It earned a total of $183.9 million.[28][29] Gaga won the 2012 Billboard Touring Awards Eventful Fan's Choice Award for Best Tour Of The Year.[30]
2014 ArtRave: The Artpop Ball May 4, 2014  – November 24, 2014 (Worldwide) 79
ArtRave: The Artpop Ball supported Gaga's third studio album Artpop (2013).[31] Inspired from the similarly named party for Artpop, the stage resembled a cave and consisted of two sections connected by catwalks made of translucent lucite, allowing the audience to move underneath the catwalks while still being able to watch the show.[32] Commentators complimented the show's concept, costumes and the choreography but criticized it for being disjointed and hollow.[33][34] In November 2014, the concert was streamed live from Bercy Arena in France.[35] It grossed a total of $83 million from 920,088 sold tickets.[36][37]
2014–2015 Cheek to Cheek Tour December 30, 2014 – August 1, 2015 (North America, Europe) 36
Gaga's collaboration with Tony Bennett on the album Cheek to Cheek (2014) resulted in their Cheek to Cheek Tour.[38] Many of the tour's shows were part of music festivals.[39] For the show, the stage was decorated in a simple manner with just a crystal curtain.[40] The tour comprised a set list of songs from their album and other covers of the Great American Songbook.[41] The tour was critically acclaimed for the duo's vocals and the development of the show, as well as their on-stage chemistry.[42] It topped Vulture's list of the 10 best concerts of 2015[43] and grossed $15.3 million.[44]
2017–2018 Joanne World Tour August 1, 2017 – February 1, 2018 (North America, Europe) 49
Gaga's fifth concert tour in support of her fifth studio album Joanne (2016).[45] The concert series was deemed "more minimalist" in comparison to the singer's previous tours, but received praise for the visuals, Gaga's singing abilities and her connection with the audience.[46] It began on August 1, 2017, in Vancouver, Canada and concluded with postponed European shows in 2018.[47] It grossed a total of $95 million from 841,935 sold tickets.[48]
2022 The Chromatica Ball July 17, 2022 – September 17, 2022 (Europe, North America, Asia) 20
The all-stadium concert series took place during the summer of 2022, debuting in Düsseldorf, Germany and concluding in Miami, FL. The tour was postponed twice from its original 2020 summer date due to safety concerns over the COVID-19 pandemic.[49] It grossed a total of $112.4 million from 834,000 tickets sold.[50]
