Nahal Rabbi Yannai (Hebrew: נחל רבי ינאי) is a short seasonal stream (wadi) in the Upper Galilee, located south of Safed.[1]
The stream begins on the slopes of Ramat Razim, southeast of Safed, at an elevation of about 700 meters above sea level. South of Highway 89, the stream's channel deepens as it turns southwest, running between the Razim cliffs to the north and Mount Akavia to the south. Further along, the stream merges with Nahal Akbara at the base of the Akbara Rock cliffs.[2]
In the stream's channel, there are the Ein Akavia spring and the tomb of Akavia ben Mahalalel. The stream is named after the first-generation Amora, Rabbi Yannai, who, according to the Talmud, originated from nearby Akbara.[2]
