Phoenix Grand Prix[edit]

Why is the Phoenix Grand Prix linking to a page on the UNRELATED Indy Racing League event? I'd remove this myself if I had any confidence in being able to do it without destroying the table.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Bolt Crank (talkcontribs).

This has now been revised Jsydave 12:16, 5 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Point Scoring System[edit]

The points section shows that they can receive 36 points per round, but the comment at the end says that they can only receive 35. I'm assuming this is because a person who qualified pole would not be able to move up any positions, however if there was no change in the line-up (I know that's very unlikely) they would get the point. China[edit]

The China race is still listed on the official CCWS website as an event. We should reflect this.

Or we should at least indicate that it has been cancelled and why, as currently no mention has been made of it in the article. Shaizakopf 01:09, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dalziel,Legge,and Clarke[edit]

He's Scottish. CCWS recongizes his Scottish nationality. CCWS Nation Cup even features Scotland, and scores them points. Please stop switching his flag. The same for Clarke and Legge. On CCWS website, the are under the English flag, not the Great British. Only Wilson is under the UK flag. Any problems look on CCWS's website.

Please refer to the WikiProject Motorsport talk page for an ongoing discussion into harmonizing national flags across motorsports articles. It's already been done for F1 and sportscar racing. In any event, they can't race as "English" or "Scottish" because the racing license reflects what's written on their respective passports, and that is obligatory British. --Pc13 18:52, 9 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I understand, but how can England, Scotland, and the UK ALL be active in the Nations Cup.
I have no idea. It doesn't make any sense. It's like California and Oklahoma racing independently. How official is the "Nations Cup" title? What is attributed at the end of the season and to whom? --Pc13 07:16, 10 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Great Questions, I went on Champ Car.com, and they don't seem to do the "Nations Cup" anymore.

As far as I'm concerned, it really should be cut from the article. We're not really in a position to "invent" competitions. Shaizakopf 01:19, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Colours[edit]

In the Driver's Championship table, would it be possible to change the colour system. Obviouly, give there are only 17 cars, and the top 20 get points, no one is going to fall into the "No Points" category (nor is anyone going to "fail to qualify") I propose changing the colour blue to referring to finishes outside the top ten. Shaizakopf 01:30, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mont-Tremblant Grand Prix[edit]

Changed the table listing from GP of Montreal to Mont-Tremblant. Will edit the GP of Montreal page to reflect the change of venues. SurfaceUnits 17:43, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dutch Grand Prix[edit]

Updated the page to reflect sponsorship and event announcements. surfaceunits 20 July 2007

Las Vegas GP[edit]

Removed references to IRL races at LVMS. Page needs updating. Should be renamed Las Vegas Champ Car Grand Prix surfaceunits 20 July 2007

Naming Conventions[edit]

It looks like we have at least three naming conventions in use for event pages:

1)Champ Car Grand Prix of (location) 2)(location) Champ Car Grand Prix 3)(event title) Grand Prix of (location)

I propose each Champ Car Grand Prix race should be have a base page titled (place of race) Champ Car Grand Prix, i.e. Belgium Champ Car Grand Prix; Cleveland Champ Car Grand Prix; because the name of the races will change each year depending on title sponsors. For example, the page for the Grand Prix of Edmonton for has been changed three time; 2007 is Rexall Grand Prix of Edmonton; 2006 was West Edmonton Mall Grand Prix Presented by the Brick; 2005 was West Edmonton Mall Grand Prix. Links on most pages are set to look for West Edmonton but that page no longer exists. Plus, history is lost when pages axed. SurfaceUnits 06:11, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Edmonton[edit]

There are three different pages for the Edmonton GP.

The page for '05 is redirected to '06 which is redirected to the Rexall page .

There is no info on the inaugural '05 race and just a blurb about '06. SurfaceUnits 06:05, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I created the Edmonton Champ Car Grand Prix page and redirected the three previous pages to it SurfaceUnits 06:06, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Graffiti[edit]

Some crappy put a shout out about WP below the drivers section SurfaceUnits 06:55, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Toronto[edit]

Like Edmonton, people are changing the name of the Toronto GP page with each title sponsor change SurfaceUnits 07:05, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Updated Current Tracks and Season templates SurfaceUnits 16:13, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Retirements[edit]

As the series gives points to every driver who retires the race would it be better if the result table would show actual positions? The background colour could still be the same. BleuDXXXIV 19:23, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In regards to retirements, wouldnt it be better if we tried to put a bit more detail in results. EG if someone has an accident instead of putting the reason of retirement from race as 'mechincal' we put it down as 'accident' or if they collide and crash with another car put it down as 'Collision'. Check the F1 race results on wikipedia they would help. Pattav2 10:35, 4 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:IRiseLogo.jpg[edit]

Image:IRiseLogo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Image copyright problem with Image:Dp01.jpg[edit]

The image Image:Dp01.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --05:05, 9 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
