Roster for the start of the season

[edit]
  • Javey Baez, Junior Lake and others did not make the team roster. The were sent to the minors albieit for a short time. Why are they listed as "inactive"? Is that right?
  • Also, there were many coaching changes over the winter with the managerial switch. I'd like to clean-up the "Coaching Changes" section. . Buster Seven Talk 15:05, 7 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • I see now that there is an "active roster" and then a 40 man roster. Should the header say 40 man Roster with the appropriate clarification as to who is on the Major League team and who is in the minors? How do other team articles handle this situation. Just Curious.
  • I have made the coaching additions and changes as needed. . Buster Seven Talk 19:35, 7 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thats how the roster templates are done.. the active members are in the majors the inactive ones are either in the minors or on the disabled list or otherwise inactive. Spanneraol (talk) 20:41, 7 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Totals for the Batting Stats

[edit]

The totals at the bottom....do they have to be figured by an editor or is there another way to do it?. . Buster Seven Talk 13:34, 17 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Using the 2015 Dodgers article as an example I am going to remove the totals bar...since I am not going to be the one that ADDS the figures. Should someone want to replace the Totals bar they should also maintain it. . Buster Seven Talk 13:43, 17 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Batting and Pitching stats

[edit]

Daily changing the stats is tedious and, in the grand scheme of "things that are important", rather insignificant and transient. Ive looked at some other teams and they seem to be edited at the conclusion of a "series" of games against one opponent. For instance, once the results from todays game against the Cards are available, the stats will be changed. . Buster Seven Talk 14:26, 7 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Line-up changes throughout the year

[edit]

Last week I added "40th Game starters". My thinking was that the Cubs are a young team and there will be many changes. At the 1/4 mark already a third of the line-up is different. I project to do it again at about the 82 game. And then the final game of the regular season...just before they start competing in the playoffs. . Buster Seven Talk 19:17, 28 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure thats necessary, but if you want to do something like that perhaps you should do it in table form so you can chart the changes rather than as separate starters boxes. Spanneraol (talk) 21:40, 14 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I decided against it and removed the "half-way" starters. Thanks for your advice. . Buster Seven Talk 21:51, 14 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
