2019 to Egypt (much likely), 2021 to Cameroon, 2023 to Ivory Coast, 2025 to Guinea (possibly?)

[edit]

CAF has new plans and new troubles as usual: https://en.as.com/en/2018/12/15/football/1544888523_865275.html https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/46494595 Please update the page — Preceding unsigned comment added by 156.222.50.1 (talk) 23:25, 15 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

There's a mistake in the date of the draw

[edit]

It will probably take place in July 2021, not in June!

Wrong Groups and Match schedule

[edit]

Can someone update the groups and match schedule. The Groups are all messed up, for example Group A, has Tunisia in place of Burkina Faso. Group E is listed as Group B, etc. The match schedule is also not accurate. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.49.117.110 (talk) 19:24, 29 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism

[edit]

Most of the matches and groups have appeared to be vandalised by someone and removed (Katherine Northey (talk) 17:35, 13 January 2022 (UTC))[reply]

Group A

[edit]

Says that Cape Verde can't be 4th (effectively). But if they lose and Ethiopia win 2-1 (or 3-2 etc). Then wouldn't BFA, ETH and CPV each have 3pts, have 3pts and 0 GD on HTH but BFA and ETH would have score more head to head goals (2 for BFA and ETH but only 1 for CPV). That seems to suggest Cape Verde could be eliminated. Similarly CMR could finish 3rd (not only 2nd as stated) if they lose by heaps and BFA win. Happy for clarification. 110.33.28.251 (talk) 12:46, 17 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I already have corrected the CPV issue.--Anaxagoras13 (talk) 13:50, 17 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It is not stated that Cameroon is at least 2nd, it is stated that Cameroon advances and Cameroon will advance even if they end up 3rd, having 6 points.--Anaxagoras13 (talk) 13:55, 17 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

On table below Combinations of matches in the Round of 16, remove green background on last row (row with combination C,D,E,F). That combination is no longer possible since one of the third place teams from either Group A or Group B will move to the next round. Both rank higher than the third place from Group C. 2620:0:1000:2B11:13C3:8C13:493:4C79 (talk) 21:16, 18 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

In fact, seven of the rows (all rows for which C is present but A is not, and all rows for which C is present but B is not) are no longer possible, since it is impossible that the third-placed team from Group C qualifies while the third-placed team from either Group A or Group B does not qualify. The separate article on the Knockout Phase for AFCON 2021 is accurate in this regard, but the main page somehow is not. 2A02:A458:B4CE:1:A5A0:4398:5B3D:4E33 (talk) 21:49, 18 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Cape Verde confirmed 2nd round

[edit]

Why are Cape Verde not currently down as 2nd round confirmed? They currently sit top of the third placed teams with only 3 teams capable of overtaking them meaning they will finish 4th minimum and will therefore qualify no matter what 213.249.203.94 (talk) 17:56, 19 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Cape Verde is tied with Malawi and can lose a draw of lots against Malawi for the 4th place.--Anaxagoras13 (talk) 18:23, 19 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

In the knockout stage there are already names on the quarter final matches. There shouldn't be as the matches have not yet played. Like senegal -mali and tunisia. 197.153.93.110 (talk) 23:24, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Mistake in Final Standing

[edit]

Hello, thanks for your hard work all. I have noticed a mistake in Final Standing Section. Table Of Disqualified Teams from group stage, Ghana was from group B, it is mistakenly typed as Group D. Ma7mouD 27 (talk) 13:58, 22 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ghana actually was in group C, not B, not D. Zimbabwe was also wrong. The teams are not disqualified.--Anaxagoras13 (talk) 12:09, 23 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong quarter final opponent for morocco

[edit]

Opponent in the quarter finals is not Senegal, but the winner between Ivory Coast and Egypt!! 2A02:A210:2204:7880:7446:F9FF:273A:BCD4 (talk) 21:00, 25 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
