High break prize/Held over matches[edit]

Does anyone know whether Barry Hawkins is going to win the high break prize for his 146 in a held over match against Reanne Evans? I'm assuming that the 146 will go in the Infobox. Personally I'm still not happy that we continue to put the held over centuries in the "qualifying" section while WST continues to put them in the main event page (https://livescores.worldsnookerdata.com/Centuries/CenturyBreaks/14475/betvictor-english-open-2021). See earlier discussions at Talk:2021 Northern Ireland Open#Highest Break and WT:SNOOKER#Held over matches which are still unresolved. It's definitely true there's no longer separate high break prizes for any event's qualifying stage. I did try to find references for the change, with no luck so far, but equally, try to find a source FOR separate high break prizes for any event's qualifying stage (in the most recent seasons) and what amount those prizes would be, and you won't be able to. The World Championship has separate prizes for a maximum: £40,000 (main stage) and £10,000 (qualifying), PLUS the event's high break prize of £15,000 (qualifying stage included). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:8085:7160:3B80:1CB:44D3:3407:18EF (talk) 09:51, 7 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

However based on that table it could be that there's simply no prize for qualifying stage centuries, only for final stage centuries, it's just not clear. Seems to me that if we don't know for certain who won the high break prize then we should be leaving the infobox highest break parameter blank. Its just confusing if we list the high break prize and then add a person next to "Highest break" who may or may not have won the high break prize. Nigej (talk) 10:10, 7 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If the highest break for the event is made in qualifying, it counts towards the high break prize. Not trying to be insulting or anything, but do you regularly watch the events on Eurosport UK/Ireland? Found this: https://wst.tv/more-announcements-from-barry-hearn/ (6 May 2019) "High break prizes will go up next season, and there will be no discrepancy between the qualifying rounds and final stages in terms of breaks counting for the high break prize. This compensates for the scrapping of the rolling £5,000 for 147s,..." Strange use of the word "discrepancy" instead of "distinction" but otherwise it seems to confirm that, from the start of the 2019–20 snooker season, the high break prize covers all matches, qualifying or not (although as noted above the World Championship seems to be an exception, see 2021 World Snooker Championship#Prize fund). Now 2019 World Open (snooker) (and other events are similar) has the "Highest break" as Trump (144) when it seems that Lisowski (145) took the high break prize (although the prize is not currently mentioned). Seemingly confirmed by this: https://wst.tv/selby-and-murphy-through-to-yushan/ which says "Lisowski set a high target for the £6,000 high break prize". Although I also found this https://snookerzone.co.uk/judd-trump-is-smashing-it-in-2019/ which says "Trump also won 6K for the high break prize of 144", showing that others are confused too.
