Zion research

[edit]

@Dineshs01102000: Please do not add the poll from Zion research as it is not a well-established outlet and is not reliable and not every poll in the internet comes to Wikipedia; see WP:INDISCRIMINATE. Furthermore, the poll only lists ADMK and the DMK and left out other parties like the AMMK and MNM for which you replaced the data with zero; this misleads the reader. If you continue edit warring, I will report this to Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring. SUN EYE 1 15:51, 12 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ammk & Mnm parties are also considered in zion survey. Dineshs01102000 (talk) 01:14, 13 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Dineshs01102000: No they are not in the reference you provided, also Zion Research is unreliable. Does it at least have it's own website?. SUN EYE 1 05:25, 13 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I will not edit any more.even adding some important data with ref got deleted by bots..whats is this the use of editing ? How can i improve these pages ? Dineshs01102000 (talk) 01:16, 13 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I did not tell you not to edit, I told you to not edit war over this content. You can add polls from well established outlets or improve other articles and I don't think this article needs much improvements till the elections. SUN EYE 1 05:25, 13 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Why didnt you add PuthuyugamTV opinion poll.? I know very well that you're a dmk sympathist ! Dineshs01102000 (talk) 06:38, 22 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Districts listing

[edit]

The districts listing needs regrouping. Many districts are split and refer to different subsets of constituencies in differeent places. Examples: Kanchipuram, Erode. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.174.248.236 (talk) 04:43, 14 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Alliance names

[edit]

The alliances in the election have official names DMK+ for instance is Secular Progressive Alliance while AIADMK+ is National Democratic Alliance. We should use these names instead of DMK+ and AiADMK+. C1MM (talk) 05:48, 7 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please fix the infobox display

[edit]

The infobox is showing only two leaders in mobile view unless someone scrolls to the right. This is not normal user behavior. This gives an inaccurate picture of the electoral contest. Could the infobox display be fixed? Or, I suggest only the ruling party and major opposition party alliance be displayed in the infobox. --Ravi (talk) 12:00, 18 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I have now changed the infobox to show only the two major alliances as shown in the 2020 United States presidential election article. --Ravi (talk) 12:40, 18 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Other Alliances

[edit]

Selva15469, is there a need divide other alliances like AMMK+ and MNM+? They are not very well covered in reliable sources and are just expected to be spoilers. In the current assembly, all of them together have a total of 1 seat. I think we should combine them and any other party into a single section called others. Tayi Arajakate Talk 11:14, 22 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

AMMK party have 1 seat in the assembly. Opinion polls have included AMMK and MNM. But I think there's no need to create seat sharing map for their alliances. Selva15469 (talk) 11:35, 22 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, thanks. Also nice revamp of the map, just one thing I'd point out. The different shades of red are very similar to each other and get mixed up. Tayi Arajakate Talk 11:48, 22 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I've fixed those color shades now. Selva15469 (talk) 12:49, 22 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Prasannaa ss, The poll itself seems to be fake, see this twitter post from the outlet pointed out by an IP https://twitter.com/TimesDemocracy/status/1373978586135240709. Not everything in the internet is added here; see WP:INDISCRIMINATE. Looks like you were edit warring with an IP address too and called another user a "terrorist"; You will end up getting blocked soon if you continue editing disruptively. There is a news article in asianet news, please do read from.[2]

I always loging form my user id. There is no need for me loging in from an IP.

Already the user Selva15469, has been warned previously for doing such editis in wiki. And your warning a genuine contributor, and trying to protect a previously warned user. This seems like a discrimination towards me. There is no concesus in the polls. Since there is no conses lets remove the polls. SOmething seems fishy or you, like wise something else seems fishy for me.

I have not edited the content after the message. I will alsso raise this issue againt the disccrimination with your false accusations of me coming in some IP. You should warn the IP when i am a registered contributor. My Last edit in the page was 03:19, 23 March 2021‎ Prasannaa ss.

Like wise I would be happy for you to remove the polls, as well as issue a warning to the Selva15469 like you did to me. Then only it will be fair. Else I see this as a case of unair PreJudice judment of comments. If this is going to continue, then edit warring, I will report this to Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring.-

Even the Puthiyathalaimurai Tv Poll should be deleted since the poll only lists ADMK and the DMK and left out other parties like the AMMK; this misleads the reader. Even the AMMK repreasentative walked away from the program citing the same reasons. On the same Ground that poll should be removed. SUN EYE 1 15:51, 12 February 2021 (UTC) quoted the same reason for removing Zion research. Which was posted by @Dineshs01102000. Same warnign has been a template which is being used in this page. Which I would like to take a point to the admins the discrimination on genuine contributors to the Wiki. -— Preceding unsigned comment added by Prasannaa ss (talkcontribs)

Warnings are given so that you don't repeat the mistakes again. You called another editor a terrorist and edit warred and you got your warnings. There is consensus for the polls; see WP:EDITCON. You are free to open a report against me if you think those are "false accusations" and "discrimination". That IP address continued your edit war and so I thought it was you, if that's not you, I'm sorry. I'm not removing the polls, those are from reliable outlets unlike the one you added. The Zion research is not an established outlet so does the Democracy Network and Ungal Kural which has also claimed that the poll was fake SUN EYE 1 14:07, 23 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Will Chanakya Poll Analysis be added in polls?

[edit]

Chanakyaa has been conducting, and publishing election polls based on electoral psephology analaysis. They have done such poll prediction based on extensive analysis based on previous electoral results.

The analysis is a series of videos published in Youtube.

ADMK+ = 97 seats DMK+ = 111 seats

Tough Fight = 26 seats

The analysis was done based on Data, with indepth electoral psephology analaysis, based on criterias which are discussed in the series of poll results. I can give the links for all the videos if needed.

Chanakyaa TV is a YouTube channel. SUN EYE 1 18:42, 30 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The Analysis is done by Rangaraj Pandey. Earlier polls and analysis were shown on Vendar TV. I am not aware if this poll was telecasted in Vendar TV. Nearly 1 laks views have been seen in Just 2 hours of me updating here. It is a series of episodes and more than 1 lak people have seen the shown. I have a view this poll should also be published in the wiki. Suneye ... I know your gonna disagree with me. I am just updating the content here for everyone to see that the real data by publishers are not allowed to be published.

~~S S Prasannaa~~

Chanakyaa's was merely an analysis, in no way it is an opinion poll. Rangaraj Pandey himself has said this repeatedly in those videos. They are trying to predict using past data + their opinion only. If this were to be allowed to be added as opinion polls, then you have to add predictions from other political pundits too such as Ravindran Duraiswamy or Journalist Mani - both of whom have predicted 200+ for DMK front.

Will the first version of Times Now/CVoter poll also be added?

[edit]

If you check the previous versions of this page ( https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=2021_Tamil_Nadu_Legislative_Assembly_election&oldid=1012975138 ), you can see the Times Now/CVoter poll published on 8 Mar 2021, along with proper sources.

This was later vandalized in this version and changed as Makkal-Maiyyam ( https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=2021_Tamil_Nadu_Legislative_Assembly_election&oldid=1014106704 )

Instead of reverting the edit, the entire row was removed in this version ( https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=2021_Tamil_Nadu_Legislative_Assembly_election&oldid=1014111965 )

Can the first version of Times Now/CVoter published on 8 Mar 2021 be restored?

~~Aldebaran591~~ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 183.82.207.190 (talkcontribs)

Opinion Polls - Puthuyugam TV & DCC research

[edit]

Askaskask1993, The video says that the interview is done using Computer-assisted personal interviewing which is an online survey. This makes it even more unreliable and online surveys are not added here. Furthermore, Puthuyugam TV is not a WP:NEWSORG but an entertainment channel, this makes the youtube link you provided unreliable too. SUN EYE 1 17:39, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Suneye1, The channel has been operating in the respective language for substantial period of time with substantial following. An opinion poll conducted at their behest is important enough to find a mention in this section. As to your objection that the survey was done online, it does not necessarily make the survey dubious or unreliable. However, I do cede that DCC research has no mention anywhere absolutely on the internet. Thank you for spotting that and I will not be undoing the change. We can debate the same if anyone adds more details regarding the same. Askaskask1993 (talk) 18:52, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for understanding. Apart from the unreliability of DCC research, Puthuyugam TV is an entertainment channel and will not pass as a reliable source as per WP:RS. SUN EYE 1 14:30, 5 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This article is already semi protected, Please make sure your title is relevant to your request, If you do not know how to create new sections or edit titles, check out the markup guidelines. Additionally, NTK does not meet wiki's significance to be given importance here, You may change it yourself by creating an account and providing a proper source to prove its notability, Do note that opinion polls, online surveys and your opinion cannot be used as a justification to add its symbol here, Suggest waiting till the results and then add it if it has a sizeable vote count. -- KindCowboy69 04:14, 7 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Who should be in the list of parties not in any alliance?

[edit]

@Editor85CP: I see that you have added CPI(ML)L to the list. Does it make sense to add that party? It might make sense for West Bengal but not for Tamil Nadu. That is a non-existent party in Tamil Nadu. In last election they contested around 10 seats and failed to cross 1% vote in any seat. Adding Tamil Nadu Ilangyar Katchi (contesting under the leadership of Sagayam IAS) might make more sense. Even My India Party (a new party) that contests in over 60 seats might make sense. --Hameedfs (talk) 07:22, 10 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Hameedfs: I certainly believe you should be adding the parties that you've mentioned. However, I feel its important that CPI(ML)L is also mentioned because it is a party that is contesting elections and while it may not win a seat, it could always improve its performance. Their candidate list is one that's unlike the other parties in the state and so I believe it is possible for them to do better as communist parties often field candidates in areas where they believe they can perform well. The CPI(ML)L is only contesting in these 12 seats while it is supporting the DMK-led alliance in all other seats. So, I think they're looking to improve their vote share.

the party Naam Tamilar Katchi has received vote of 3,067,458 which is vote share of 6.85%.

and it is now third major popular party in tamil nadu now.

@Nuf1232wkd: Please use the 'Preview' functionality when you edit pages, and stop breaking the template. After your edits, the infobox template is broken and results in parts of it instead showing up in the lead section text, e.g. you can see it at r1022160822. I have no disagreement to adding the third party, as long as it does not break the infobox template and the other editors have no objection. --Joshua Issac (talk) 00:09, 9 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please talk in this place Nuf1232wkd (talk) 06:10, 9 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It's literally trivial to add a party in the infobox that has never won any seat before and won none now. It's an abuse of free media. Coming third doesn't matter when the top2 are leading with more than 30% while the third is just 6%. There are third parties in other states, with significant 15% vote shares. But in TN, there is none. So please stop this disruption. BawinV (talk) 06:56, 9 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@BawinV:your reply shows you are accepting Naam Tamilar Katchi is third popular party but you can not accept to add it in infobox since it got only 6.85% of vote. I think, Wikipedia has not given any threshold to add any party as second or third to add in infobox even your personal opinion also not clear whether it is 30% or 15% to become as third party. first you should say what is the percentage of vote should get to add a third party in infoboxNuf1232wkd (talk) 07:29, 9 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Nuf1232wkd: Getting the last place in a race of 5 people doesn't meant you're the winner of 5th place. I talk based on numbers and facts, unlike you. The infobox template exists to tell us the major parties, the number of seats they won before and now, and the former CM and the new CM. NTK has NONE. they won nothing before and they won nothing now. They never held the CM post and they haven't now. They've never entered the Legislative Assembly. For all the stated reasons, it's useless and superfluous to add NTK. The lead is for significant information (the winner and opposition). All other loser parties and independent candidates can be found in the body of the article ("Results"). Period. BawinV (talk) 07:44, 9 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
BawinV (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) Getting the last place in a race of 5 people doesn't meant he is winner. but Naam Tamilar Katchi is not 5th place. Naam Tamilar Katchi is in third place with the vote of 3,067,458 which is vote share of 6.85% when there were more than 10 parties and thousands of independents in the race. its is not matters whether they won the seats or not. Percentage of the vote is important because as per the Indian election system, there is possibility loss all the seats even if got 49.9% of vote. for example in 1996 Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly election the party AIADMK got 27.08% of vote but won only 4 seats in total seats of 234. and Past election vote percentage is not matters. see this election result. for More in Andra assembly Election in 2019 the party Jana Sena Party got only 5.53% or 1,736,811 vote, and Jana Sena Party is being showed as third party in That election. And see Telengana Election 2018 result the party who got only who got 3.5% and 0.8% vote also has been listed. But in the case of Naam Tamilar Katchi in this election you are trying to hide third party. it shows your partiality and vadalism on Naam Tamilar Katchi
Please stop talking irrelevantly and stick to the topic. All the things you said have been covered in the article's body. We're talking about the infobox in the lead. I'm repeating it to like you're a child, NTK has won NONE. And therefore it won't be included in the infobox. Infobox is for the things that are consequential and important. NTK is trivial and inconsequential. Regarding your comment on Telangana, if you have a problem with that article, go open a talk there. Don't try to make a point by vandalizing this article. All those minor parties mentioned in the infobox of 2018 Telangana elections have history of sending MLAs to the Legislative Assembly, irrespective of the vote bank. NTK has never had any member in the assembly And, by the way, do not question my work. My job is to study sources and writes professional encyclopedic articles while maintaining neutrality I wrote majority of this article. You appeared 4 days ago and has contributed nothing to the article except meddling with NTK, which clearly shows who is biased and who is not. You're probably a sockpuppet wasting the time of other editors. Please abstain from your disruption. BawinV (talk) 09:06, 9 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@BawinV: Your point is not acceptable, No Need any past history, to show when something is happening significantly now. when all the media is showing NTK as third party why it can not showed here?Nuf1232wkd (talk) 09:46, 9 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
This is the last time I'm replying since you keep repeating the same and I can't be repeating the same thing I said. You do not care about Wikipedia, you're only obsessed with a hyperbole, trying to making NTK look like it did something. Lol. All the parties and their votes are listed in Results. That's ENOUGH. Parties absent from the assembly do not need to be added to infobox. Bye. BawinV (talk) 10:16, 9 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
BawinV (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) significance of election result not only parties who is getting seats, percentage of vote also significant. if 6.85% is not enough for you to add infobox, what is the percentage of vote you need ??????? Do not show your vandalism on growing parties. Nuf1232wkd (talk) 10:28, 9 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
You keep breaking the template. Every time you have added code to the infobox, the lead section has had template code leaking into it because of your changes. I have no opinion on whether the party should be included, but the fact that you keep adding it without consensus, and without regard to whether your changes break the page, suggests that you are not here to build an encyclopedia, but to promote a political party. When you ran the preview, you would have seen that your change breaks the template code but you still went ahead and submitted it anyway. --Joshua Issac (talk) 12:33, 9 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Joshua Issac I am new to Wikipedia, And I Just started developing from this page. Since the luck of my knowledge when I starting to update Page I have break some template. I regret to above matters. please check my all of my history, I did not promoting one political party I have updated all party information.
