TMC violence is exaggerated and BJP violence is ignored Venkat TL (talk) 07:31, 3 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Venkat TL Just so we are on the same page, By BJP violence you are saying Violence committed by BJP or Violence against BJP? >>> Extorc.talk(); 07:37, 3 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
By. And what about Communist violence? Venkat TL (talk) 07:38, 3 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
This is the violence mentioned in this Article
"The BJP claimed that at least six of its workers were killed during attacks by workers of the ruling Trinamool Congress. Five TMC workers were also killed in these attacks. ... . In Khanakul, a TMC worker was reportedly hacked to death. Meanwhile, ... spreading fake news."
"Udayan Guha, TMC candidate from Dinhata and former Dinhata MLA was attacked by miscreants in Dinhata on 6 May. ... . TMC blamed BJP for this attack. FIR was lodged ... . He questioned the role of the police, as those accused in the attack on him were still elusive."
"Many women, including a minor girl, were allegedly raped by TMC workers ... ; their account moved to Supreme court."
I dont see how is this under-reporting TMC.
There is a para discussing a single event in which both sides lost members and another paragraph exclusively talking about a single TMC candidate and violence against him. After that a single line about rape cases. Actually I'd suggest that this page still misses out a lot of violence against BJP.
"In some areas TMC leaders and workers came to the bring back homeless BJP workers to their homes after they were attacked in the post poll violence ... These workers claimed that they were attacked , looted , shops and furniture damaged. ... TMC leaders helped BJP workers open their shops again ... [instances of rescue]."
I wonder if there were enough rescue campaigns conducted by TMC for BJP workers there must've been widespread violence against BJP to begin with which doesn't find a single word in this article. These instances need to be added in this article with R/S. I suggest this article needs updating but this definitely doesn't under-reporting some party.
And Yes, Violence by and against Communists is under-reported. >>> Extorc.talk(); 07:46, 3 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Venkat TL >>> Extorc.talk(); 08:35, 3 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Missing background section.

[edit]

In order to paint a Grim picture the article creator has convinently ignored the history of post poll violence in Bengal that is a regular occurrence. Venkat TL (talk) 07:40, 3 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Why this Wikipedia article falls way off the mark.

[edit]

Why BJP’s labelling of Bengal post election violence as communal is misleading

The above article provides a background and summarizes the topic. Now compare this with the picture that this wikipedia article has painted. Venkat TL (talk) 08:02, 3 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The article talks less about religion. And it does mention that BJP tried to paint a communal picture. @Venkat TL >>> Extorc.talk(); 08:35, 3 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Extorc it does. My concern is with the weight. If you read that article you have a decent understanding of what happened and why. This wikipedia article on the other hand fails in both these objectives. Yes it mentions multiple acts of violence but fails to give full picture. Venkat TL (talk) 08:40, 3 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Venkat TL, Perhaps look here >>> Extorc.talk(); 08:42, 3 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Non-BJP parties

[edit]

The talk page discussion focuses mostly on BJP; but CPM, Congress also accused TMC of political violence.

@Knight Skywalker, Thanks, these details will be added. >>> Extorc.talk(); 18:22, 3 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Don't ping me for such comments. Knight Skywalker (talk) 18:27, 3 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Fine. Ill not ping. Provided sources have been taken into account and relevant details have been added. >>> Extorc.talk(); 18:30, 3 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This is kept for further addition

Knight Skywalker (talk) 02:57, 4 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Would current events classify as "Post Poll" violence.

[edit]

Recently there have been multiple murders and killings of members of TMC and BJP and i am think that those should also be added here considering they are just a continuation of the post poll violence. @Venkat TL

https://www.theweek.in/news/india/2022/03/22/bengal-10-including-women-and-kids-burnt-alive-after-tmc-leaders-murder.html >>> Extorc.talk(); 11:14, 22 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Extorc No. That will be stretching WP:SYNTH. Unless a reliable source directly links it with 2021 polls, it should not be added. Venkat TL (talk) 11:26, 22 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Bartaman Patrika and aajkal

[edit]

Bengali newsppaers Aajkal and Bartamanpatrika are are pro-tmc newspapers and heavily biased in favour of TMC in political news of West Bengal.
