Melted wires on Trimet?

Local news, and TriMet releases, describe wire sagging, and show a boringly routine example of overload damage. It’s only when you get long distance, or sink to sources like HuffPo, that sources describe melted copper or aluminum.

(This, BTW, is the third time I’ve added a new section here. In compensation, I suppose, two extra copies of a new section on a different article popped up. Go figure.) Qwirkle (talk) 16:18, 30 June 2021 (UTC)

Canada should go first in Impact

There was more, it's alphabetical and it's already first in Temperature. InedibleHulk (talk) 20:41, 29 June 2021 (UTC)

Infobox?

Should this article have an infobox, and if so, which one? The 'Heat waves in Canada' category has just one entry with an infobox (Template:Infobox event). ---Another Believer (Talk) 00:00, 29 June 2021 (UTC)

Looks like one was added. 🌀CycloneFootball71🏈 |sandbox 01:08, 30 June 2021 (UTC)

Current title is too broad

This needs to be distinguished in some way from the heat wave that impacted the southwestern US just a few weeks prior, unless the idea is to cover both of them in the same article. That earlier heat wave was notable in that it broke or set numerous records, such as the all-time record high at Salt Lake City. Highway 89 (talk) 00:30, 29 June 2021 (UTC)

If an article is written about that, then it can be called 2021 Southwestern United States heat wave. This heat wave is hitting pretty much all of western North America, from California up to the Yukon.-- Earl Andrew - talk 03:14, 29 June 2021 (UTC)
Highway 89 If so, make a move request and/or create a new article about the heat wave of early-mid-June. I will be happy to include info about the swelter in AZ, UT and SoCal, but only if the title reflects it. Szmenderowiecki (talk) 20:02, 29 June 2021 (UTC)

The heat dome responsible for 128F in Death Valley weakened significantly, putzed around the southwest, and then was given the opportunity to explode over the PNW this week. Are they the same heatwave? I don't think so, but for wiki purposes, I say we included both events as one evolving into the other. The meteorology should be looked in to more specifically.

I agree that we should distinguish this heat wave from previous ones this year. To be clear, several records were broken throughout the United States prior to this current heat wave. I believe this current heat wave deserves its own article as it is causing new records and deaths across the United States. Jurisdicta (talk) 05:48, 3 July 2021 (UTC)
