Reasoning behind my edit to the lead[edit]

I've removed most of the main lead para, as it lifted almost verbatim the majority of Cricinfo's bio text. Unless we have explicit permission to use it (which I can't see anywhere) we must not do that. I've rewritten some of the information in my own words, buyt I'm not very knowledgeable about Mendis, so I hope others here will be able to restore the information without using chunks of copyrighted text from elsewhere. (Please remember that just changing the odd word is not sufficient; our articles must be properly in our own words.) Thanks! Loganberry (Talk) 14:10, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
