Platinum sale

[edit]

How much did Platinum Technology sell for? It says 3.6 billion here... and 4.0 billion over at Platinum Technology. -- Ben 02:05, 23 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The news articles I can find seem to say mostly 3.5 billion, so I'm using that number instead. -- Bovineone 05:51, 30 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Suggested topics

[edit]

At Platinum Technology, Flip:

  • frequently sent all-company voicemails, including one shortly before the CA acquisition that said, "I'd probably rather roll in my own vomit than sell to CA." (citation difficult to find!) Later dismissed this and other anti-CA comments as theater.
  • expressed support for the Endangered Species Act and put photos of endangered species into marketing materials
  • provided generous mental health benefits in the company health plan
  • dressed very informally - never in a tie - and advocated shorts and halter tops for female employees
  • introduced the word 'fuck' as a commonplace into companies he acquired

Flip as a "con man"

[edit]

A [previous version] vandalized the page. Nonetheless, I have some sympathy for its outrage and would be delighted to see cited, objective, NPOV information that paints a more complete picture of Flip. --NoNonsenseHumJock (talk) 23:14, 24 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
