Date of death for Andronikos[edit]

I notice that Andronikos' death has been transposed from the final years of Michael VII's reign to sometime in Alexios I's reign. See here for the arguments for placing Andronikos' death in late 1077, since the previous source book has been deemed "unreliable"... Oatley2112 (talk) 00:01, 17 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The source is reliable, and will be included. However the argument is not watertight: a person of purely scholarly interests such as Andronikos, who was completely disinterested in the affairs of state, would be the last to be chosen to lead the defence of Constantinople.
