Bring home the (wrong) Bacon[edit]

The Francis Bacon link is dubious. 173.228.58.232 (talk) 18:08, 3 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Changed to Francis Bacon (artist). Edwardx (talk) 18:29, 3 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Spelling of Ann/Anne[edit]

Why is the page titled 'Ann Fleming' when (a) the references mostly opt for 'Anne' and (b) a crucial (that of her birth record) ref confirms this? Gaelicbow (talk) 11:11, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong. She was born "Anne", but went by - and is referred to in the sources as "Ann". These include her Oxford DNB, Lycett's heavyweight biography of Ian Fleming, the Ian Fleming Publications website (of which some members of the Fleming family are still associated) and her obituary in The Times. Most of the sources used in the article at present also refer to her as "Ann". - SchroCat (talk) 11:47, 26 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with SchroCat. Edwardx (talk) 12:34, 26 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@SchroCat: As well as the lead sentence not matching the article title, it's also unsatisfactory to have this article at Ann Fleming (socialite) when Ann Fleming redirects here. It's unnecessary disambiguation: the article should be at Ann Fleming. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 19:46, 17 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You're right: it should be. That's where it originally was until someone moved it to the incorrect version of "Anne Fleming (socialite)". A technical move would have to be requested, however, as it's not possible to do a direct move. - SchroCat (talk) 19:51, 17 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I can fix that. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 20:02, 17 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Excellent - that's much better, thanks. - SchroCat (talk) 20:29, 17 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
