Objective

The objective of this project is to condense the numerous separate episode articles into just three seperate book (season) articles. For something to work off of, see Smallville (Season 1). Parent5446(Murder me for my actions) 23:47, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

Quoting from the WikiProject Avatar main page, "Currently, due to complaints about the separate episode articles not being in compliance with WP:EPISODE, the articles are all currently being merged into combined articles, separated by book instead of episode. The current snadbox for the merging can be found at Wikipedia:WikiProject Avatar: The Last Airbender/season 1. To discuss or give ideas that will help, leave a message on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Avatar: The Last Airbender/season 1 or on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Avatar: The Last Airbender#Episode merging project. " -Verdatum (talk) 02:03, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

Goals

this is Book 1

  1. Improve Episode Summaries
  2. Expand Production section.
  3. Nominate the Unaired Pilot, 3 Shorts, Episode Template for Deletion
  4. Remove links from List of episodes article and Add {{main}}
  5. Nominate Season articles for GA, one at a time
  6. Take Season Articles to PR
  7. Take Season 1,2, 3 articles to FAC

If you feel there is another additional problem, please add it. If you think that a problem has already been solved, or you have completed the task yourself, please cross out the item, do not remove it. When this list is finished off, we will transfer it to a final destination. As for the individual articles, there is still the question of whether to just delete them after the finishing of this article or doing something else. Parent5446(Murder me for my actions) 21:20, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

Unless I am mistaken, the episodes will become redirects. The Placebo Effect (talk) 21:23, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, redirection is the way to do it. That way, the content stays in the page history whenever we need it, and any links/searches still go somewhere with useful information.--Fyre2387 (talkcontribs) 21:38, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

Does it look like I missed a step? -- The Placebo Effect (talk) 07:57, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

It looks perfect. However, it will be some time before we can get through step one. I think we should generate each season page one by one, then transfer then all instead of working on all three at the same time. It will be easier that way. So far season 1 is doing pretty good. Parent5446(Murder me for my actions) 19:20, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
Maybe because I'm still new here so I don't understand, why do we still need to expand episodes 2,3,4,5,6,7,8 when they're not going to be viewed anyway? There're no links linking to them. I don't fully understand the redirection thing too. I only understand it to mean a redirection to the original episode summaries (that we want to hide from view). But from where? --Secretss (talk) 20:52, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
We need to expand the summaries on this page, not the episode pages. The episode pages will be turned into Redirects, which will redirect here once this page is complete and moved to the main encyclopedia. The Placebo Effect (talk) 22:50, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
Ohh! I get it now, thanks! --Secretss (talk) 16:56, 19 December 2007 (UTC)

I think they should be left alone because what if someone wants full detail not just a segment? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Firelordsoazin (talkcontribs) 07:31, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

wikipedia policies come first, then what people want. The Placebo Effect (talk) 13:03, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
Wikipedia policies come first. Guidelines are far weaker things and say in big letters on top that they're not always applicable and can give incorrect results. We must remember that WP:IAR is policy - if there's a good reason to ignore a guideline, we should do so.
(I'm not sure on your position on this. I want to clarify for all onlookers.) --Kizor 22:37, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
It looks to me like the steps got mixed up. Step 1 and 2 have yet to be completed, but step 3 and 5 have already been enacted. Rau J16 03:18, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
That was the plan, but, well, the best laid plans of mice and men...--Fyre2387 (talkcontribs) 22:53, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
Redirected all season one episodes here. Rau J16 05:33, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

We need to now move on to Season 2 and finish that up. Its basically done. ~Pakaroo (Pakaru) (talk) 17:00, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

The pilot and shorts are already redirects, do they still need to be deleted? Rau J16 23:57, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

Projects 2 & 3

Started Wikipedia:WikiProject Avatar: The Last Airbender/season 2 --The Placebo Effect (talk) 19:44, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

Season three has been started too: Wikipedia:WikiProject Avatar: The Last Airbender/season 3. Rau J16 23:32, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

Now, I know the current title format is used for some other shows, and its not really bad. However, in this case, we have an example of seasons that actually have a title. I mean, when we had episode articles, we didn't do "Avatar The Last Airbender (Episode 1), right? It seems to being, being that the seasons actually have titles, we ought to use them as article names.--Fyre2387 (talkcontribs) 20:19, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

Thats what I thought, but maybe if we don't do that we can just add a redirect. What do theyt do for "Hereos"? Also, are seasons 2 and 3 able to be moved yet?~Pakaroo (Pakaru) (talk) 20:25, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

It might be useful to move it to Avatar: The Last Airbender (Book 1) since the title should have the series name in some form and since the show uses books instead of seasons. But maybe I'm wrong, who knows? Parent5446(Murder me for my actions) 23:47, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
Im fine with leaving it where it is. Rau J16 23:53, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

Is the production really necessary. It's repeated for every season and I think it should be put in the main Avatar article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.84.110.189 (talk) 06:29, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

Yes, because season two had some problems with Makos death, which could ahve changed it dramatically. After they are developed more, and they are found to be very similar, then we might merge them on the main article. After consensus of course. Rau's talk 10:34, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
If we take away the production section, practically the whole article becomes in-universe and we end up with the same problem we had with the episode articles. Parent5446(Murder me for my actions) 12:08, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
Which is bad. But I do believe that we need more info. Why can't to staff of Avatar give us Wikipedians some love. Rau's talk 18:28, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

TV Shows on DVD

Would tvshowsondvd.com be considered a reliable source? Parent5446 (t n c k e l) 15:44, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

Yes, they are considered a very reliable source :) AnmaFinotera (talk) 16:42, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
If they provide a source for their information they are. But if you are talking about the episode titles, then without the back of the DVD case, I'd have to say no. Rau's Speak Page 16:48, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
Oh, OK. I just need to source the airdates. Parent5446 (t n c k e l) 17:22, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

PAL

The dates for the PAL releases dont match. The section says they began release on January 31st, 2006; but lists the first DVD having an October 19th, 2006; release date. Which is right? Rau's Speak Page 17:49, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

I fixed it. The one in the table is correct. Parent5446 (t n c k e l) 18:28, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

Possible FL?

If this article is improved, it may be the first Avatar FL. Any comments for improvement would be aprriciated. --CG was here. (T - C - S - E) 00:17, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

What about the FT discussion? No one ever responds to that. Maybe we should get some more FLs before I bring it up - but just as a preliminary suggestion. --haha169 (talk) 00:23, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
Someone will need to put all the season pages up for FL candidacy before talk of FT status.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 00:24, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

Region 2, Box DVD

here is Amazon's page for Region 2 of this DVD set. But it doesn't list the release date... --haha169 (talk) 20:25, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

I know... I spent a minute looking but I couldn't find one. Maybe an older version of the article has it. Rau's Speak Page 20:39, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
Found several, but none of the sources back up the dates..... Rau's Speak Page 20:48, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
Hmm?? Found several what? --haha169 (talk) 17:30, 7 August 2008 (UTC)
Dates. At least three. Which makes me question the legitimacy of them all. Rau's Speak Page 19:33, 7 August 2008 (UTC)
Post the links. We can determine which is most reliable. --haha169 (talk) 17:48, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
Only one was sourced, and it was sourced with the same link as above. Rau's Speak Page 19:59, 10 August 2008 (UTC)

The Amazon link doesn't provide a date. --haha169 (talk) 22:48, 10 August 2008 (UTC)

I know... Sucks.... Rau's Speak Page 23:08, 10 August 2008 (UTC)

Episode three

Small question for the plot summary of episode three: Why does Zuko challenge Zhao to an Agni Kai? I would just go back and watch that section of the episode again, but I don't have proper internet access right now. So, anyone want to check it out? The challenge probably occurs around midway through the episode. NuclearWarfare contact meMy work 20:52, 10 August 2008 (UTC)

It's closer to the end. Zhao threatens to take the search for the Avatar away from Zuko, who then challenges Zhao to an Agni Kai over who gets to search. I didn't remember either, so I looked it up a few days ago. Zuko pwned Zhao hard. Rau's Speak Page 21:55, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
Thanks. NuclearWarfare contact meMy work 02:53, 11 August 2008 (UTC)

Also, time for a FL assesment? NuclearWarfare contact meMy work 02:53, 11 August 2008 (UTC)

Possibly. It beats other season FL's. But lets wait until the list of episodes is done. Rau's Speak Page 13:25, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
I thought it seemed good. Do you see any issues with wording in the plot summaries? NuclearWarfare contact meMy work 14:35, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
The article is very good. However, the people who judge these things are a bit anal and nitpick the articles to death. But they mean well, so it's all good. *SIGN* 18:31, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

He's not a newbie. Check the contribs. And if he doesn't want to get bitten, he should be clear as to what he means. *SIGN* 00:13, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
... That's rather mean, but I guess I'll let it slide. Personality differences, I guess. That's weird too. A single purpose account is him. NuclearWarfare contact meMy work 23:23, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

Necro I found a source for "Jun," so I switched back to that. NuclearWarfare contact meMy work 17:48, 27 September 2008 (UTC)

Woah, woah, woah, you think that an interview by a guy not working on the show trumps the ending credits? -Dylan0513 (talk) 18:05, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
I figured an interview with the creators and producers wins. After all, they made the character. NuclearWarfare contact meMy work 22:23, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
Just because it's with the creators doesn't mean they wrote it. They didn't. That was the interviewer's spelling. Has no significance at all. Her name is spelled June. The source is the credits of 115. -Dylan0513 (talk) 03:48, 28 September 2008 (UTC)

Table alignment

I'm trying to fix the table alignment, since it looks like this on my browser (IE8) on a 1024x768 screen: Table alignment

Maybe we're using different browsers/screen sizes? The same thing happens with the book 1 and book 3, where I'm trying to do the same thing: Table alignment, season 1, Table alignment, season 3

My edits look okay on my browser/screen, so I can't tell how it's looking funny on the older edit. More clarification on how to approach, if possible please? EikaKou (talk) 07:15, 29 March 2011 (UTC)

See Talk:Avatar:_The_Last_Airbender_(season_2)#Table_alignment for details. EikaKou (talk) 08:03, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
