Clean-up

[edit]

As "notable" as this phenomenon is, I am going to have to remove the joke elements and throw in some references from the media sources that covered it. I am not sure if the screenshots count as fair use, either. --DJH47 (talk) 01:57, 7 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

How do you get them listed as fair use, then? How can they be more fair-use than the creators of the game itself uploading them? --86.151.138.255 (talk) 02:19, 7 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Of course they're fair use. It's noncommercial. Jackass. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.247.152.4 (talk) 08:24, 7 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That probably would not be a valid assumption. Fair use essentially requires each image to be informative to article rather than decorative. The DX10 image, which is clearly not (for laymen, Barkley's claim that it uses DirectX 10 is a joke), would have to be licensed to the Wikimedia foundation under the GFDL or placed into the public domain. "Non-commercial" simply fails to cover the scope. --DJH47 (talk) 13:10, 7 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

i cant believe that that is actually a rule, then

like.. that image DOES show what the game is about. it's informative in that that is the kind of stuff that happens in-game. it isnt decorative, it's useful in that if you "get" that screenshot then you'll more than likely get the game as a whole.

i hope this keeps being pushed and chef sues or something because that would be hilarious --86.151.138.255 (talk) 15:17, 7 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

oh no wikipedia nazis —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.209.1.100 (talk) 16:15, 7 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Psyburn's version of the article is horrible and will just get this deleted. It's not amusing at all, it recycles all the marketing material of the game. Wikipedia is wikipedia, if you want the game here as much as anybody does you're going to have to think like a "wikipedia nazi" 149.4.115.3 (talk) 16:46, 7 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The basic framework for a plot summary section is there, but it could still use "some" work. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.138.36.70 (talk) 06:22, 8 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Backley.PNG

[edit]

Image:Backley.PNG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Misplaced contrib

[edit]
The following contrib was misplaced just above the sig line in the section preceding this new secn (technically creating a forgery.)

The editors must do a good job writing this article, or Barkley might have to unleash his Chaos Dunk again. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.128.25.110 (talk) 22:22, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Question

[edit]

Is it a sign how bad the original game is that the article for the unofficial game is 10 times longer than the one for the original game?

It's a sign how bad Wikipedia is. The Hero of This Nation (talk) 12:34, 31 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Game Maker suryas

[edit]

That makes absolutely no sense. Probably just a test edit by a clueless user putting in their own (indian) name. I don't see it anywhere on Google besides copies of Wikipedia content 67.174.39.160 (talk) 09:56, 24 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Long plot

[edit]

Re-tagged the article with plot tag. This article consists mostly of a plot summary and as per WP:GAMECRUFT, it should focus on real world details instead. --Jtalledo (talk) 16:11, 2 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Abandoned user draft

[edit]

Please would an interested editor assess the material and citations at the abandoned rewrite User:Sirsabeza/sandbox/Barkley, incorporate what is useful, blank that page as WP:COPYARTICLE, and leave a note here when done? – Fayenatic London 09:43, 29 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
