more work needed
[edit]I cleaned up this article as best as I could, principally using the Dictionary of Virginia biography I inexpertly cited. I was really puzzled by the previous reference as "Kneebone" since the actual encyclopedia entry was by Little (whom I now cite) and the editor of the Dictionary was Sara Bearss. I tried using the visual editor, but could not find an appropriate citation form. It is not a periodical and the book entry now used is really awkward. I also tried to clear up the Council of State papers citation. The author is not Sanda Treadway, currently Virginia's chief librarian, but the Council. Also the article cited a two-volume reprint set three ways, so I eventually eliminated one. For what its worth, the Lyon Gardiner Tyler Virginia encyclopedia has one paragraph (about 2 column inch long) articles about Bartholomew, John and the man I call John Jr. So I'll continue the sort tomorrow, unless the cyberharassers get worse.Jweaver28 (talk)
British nationality?
[edit]Is there any special reason why his nationality is given as British? Creuzbourg (talk) 21:38, 3 December 2023 (UTC) Shouldn't it be American? Creuzbourg (talk) 10:00, 17 December 2023 (UTC)
