Name of Carthage District Attorney[edit]

In the article, D.A. Davidson's name is given as 'Danny "Buck"', with quotes around "Buck". I believe this is an error. Buck is not a nickname, it is his real middle name. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:306:CEA6:DFB0:21F:D0FF:FEAE:F811 (talk) 16:29, 25 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Surname[edit]

Bernhardt Tiede, both names typical for German Texan, the pioneers of Texas. 91.65.16.142 (talk) 14:29, 5 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

But his father (Bernhardt Tiede, 1912-1973) was a first-generation immigrant to the United States from Russia, though of German descent. So this Tiede family was not among German Texan pioneers. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tedcampbell (talkcontribs) 01:15, 28 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Date of murder[edit]

It's listed here in the article as Nov. 16, 1996. I'm assuming this date comes from sources though none of the sentences mentioning the date havee in the past (only read it out of curiosity because of the movie, not my usual area of editing around here) can double check and verify the date in case it is a sneaky vandal situation. My guess is that the length of time it took to find the body is actually the contributing factor but we see a fair amount of that kind of sneaky vandalism on film and tv articles so I thought I'd mention it just in case. http://amarillo.com/stories/021099/new_convicted.shtml lists murder date as Nov. 19 as does the Texas Weekly article here: http://www.texasmonthly.com/1998-01-01/feature4-4.php. So I'm just going to change the date. Millahnna (talk) 12:12, 10 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Family life OR[edit]

A large proportion of the Family Life section seems to be original research. The citations are referring to maps, ancestry.com, county records and census data. LowKey (talk) 21:08, 6 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. But even if the information was well sourced, a fair amount of it is extraneous to the subject. The life history of his father bears little relevance. Soonercary (talk) 03:11, 8 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Are you flagging that as a problem? Not sure I understand. - Ted Campbell (I contributed most of that section) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tedcampbell (talkcontribs) 18:45, 22 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

GRAMMAR ERROR[edit]

"According to the Amarillo Globe-News, Nugent's estranged son, Amarillo pathologist Rod Nugent, traveled from Amarillo to Panola County nine months after her death, where they declared Nugent a missing person."
