Comments[edit]

The editor who created the article has a declared Conflict of Interest but I do not think this precludes them from authoring the article, which has been handled in a neutral way. Some suggestions below:

  • Care needs to be taken with ensuring that material is not taken from other websites in violation of copyright. This led to an earlier version of the article being deleted, albeit eleven years ago. The Copyvio detector shows a high'ish match with this [1] but I think that is mostly accounted for by the long list of awards.
  • The list of awards should not include embedded links as Wikipedia doesn't do this. Rather the links should be given as sources, at the end of each award line, as sources have been given elsewhere. I've done the first one to show you what I mean.
  • If possible, some online sources would aid verification - papers/speeches etc., can only be checked if one has physical access to the archive. A Google search gave me a fair few, e.g. [2], [3], [4], [5].
  • I am concerned by the opening sentence of the Retirement and death section, "Father Hardin was troubled by turmoil that ensued at Martin University with the advent of his successor, who made rapid changes." This could imply criticism of his successor. I've no idea as to whether this is accurate or not, but it should certainly be sourced.

Good luck with further improvements to the article. KJP1 (talk) 15:59, 1 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
