Father

Was her biological dad's name Laddie Ray Underhill? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.101.205.162 (talkcontribs) 21:22, 14 November 2015‎

That looks likely to me. This site has Laddie Ray Underhill born in Florida 1891, died in Arkansas 1966. Looking through the public records accessible via Ancestry.com, it appears that in 1917, when he registered for the draft, he was living in Orange, Texas, working as a marine gas engineer; the draft card records him as having a wife and baby, who would presumably have been Evelyn. Ray, his wife Anna, and Evelyn Underhill (aged 2 yrs 3 months in January 1920 - so, born about October 1917, which does not quite match information giving an April 1917 date) are recorded in the 1920 census living in Galveston. In 1930, it appears she was living in Hillsborough, Florida, close to her grandmother (who died that year) - her father Ray was in New Orleans, and her mother may have died. By 1940, Laddie Ray Underhill had remarried and was living in Mobile, Alabama. Why do you ask? Ghmyrtle (talk) 22:08, 14 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
