BT55 vs MP4/4[edit]

According to several sources, the MP4/4 had minimal input from Gordon Murray, let alone "inspiration" from the BT55 (instead, it was a direct and visible evolution from Steve Nichols' MP4/3 from 1987). This has been stated several times over the last 30 years: letter from McLaren MP4/4 designers and engineers in 1990, interviews from Nichols, Matthew Jeffreys et al., Haynes "MP4/4 Workshop Manual" (published 2018), etc.

It is, thus, incorrect that this Murray design was "transported" to the MP4/4. Allegedly, Murray is simply riding on this fame to leverage his own road car brand. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Crazy Guitar (talkcontribs) 10:18, 24 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
