Did You Know
A fact from this article appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the "Did you know?" column on March 13, 2008.
The text of the entry was: Did you know ...that Portland Trail Blazers guard Brandon Roy won the 2007 Rookie of the Year Award by a near-unanimous vote despite missing almost a third of his first season in the NBA due to injuries?

Current Career Status[edit]

Saying Roy is retired or "was" a professional basketball player at this time is not accurate since 1) He hasn't officially retired. 2) He is still under contact to the Blazers. Referring to his career in the past tense is akin to saying someone is deceased while they are on life support and a decision to pull the plug has just been made but it hasn't happened yet.

Nickname[edit]

Since when has Brandon gone by "The Golden Boy?" As a UW Husky fan I've really only ever heard to him referred to as "B Roy." Unoriginal for sure, but true.Collegepres (talk) 16:12, 18 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

NPOV-Scouting Report[edit]

What is that? That scouting report is pure skills count, and has nothing to do (or doesn't say it) with a real scouting report. I say Re-Write section. Basketball110 the pages I've messed up completely 02:58, 10 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nominate for Good Article?[edit]

I think this is pretty close to Good article quality. I'd like to see the 2007-2008 section expanded a little bit, and a citation for the statistics section (perhaps with a little introductory text highlingting the more notable stats.) I might just go ahead and nominate it, in the hopes of getting those taken care of while waiting for a review. Any thoughts? -Pete (talk) 02:00, 2 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Quite a bit late for reply but don't worry - I've worked heavily upon the article and have nominated it. Just waiting for the reviewer. A talk 22:54, 9 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Comeback[edit]

"He claims he has recovered enough to play through a procedure that Kobe Bryant has also had to keep his knees healthy." - The procedure should be called "Orthokine therapy", which Andrew Bynum seems was treated also. [1]

place of birth inconsistent[edit]

The lede says broy was born in seattle whereas the early years section says san diego. my memory was he was born in SD but raised in the seattle area. but it looks like sources are in conflict eg the seattle times

Brandon Roy was born in 1984, when Tony Roy was stationed at Camp Pendleton near San Diego. ... The Roys eventually returned to Seattle ...http://seattletimes.com/html/huskies/2002829451_umen26.html

vs the oregonian

The Blazers' guard was the second of three children born to Tony and Gina Roy in Seattle ... http://blog.oregonlive.com/behindblazersbeat/2008/04/feb_17_an_allstar_roys_game_do.html — Preceding unsigned comment added by Snarfblaat (talkcontribs) 19:57, 21 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Noticed the dates he was shot are different.[edit]

In the summary at the top, it states he was shot on April 29, 2017. In the section titled "Personal Life", it states he was shot on April 30, 2017. I'm not sure what the correct date is, regardless the difference is there. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 135.0.6.52 (talk) 22:11, 3 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
