This Article Is A Translation[edit]

Someone on my talk page asked me to note when I create an article that is a translation, like this one. Thiagovscoelho (talk) 18:45, 26 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Thiagovscoelho: Yes, see the advice about Copying within Wikipedia and particularly the section about Translating from other language Wikimedia projects, which says what you need(ed) to do. Technically it is a copyright violation if you do not provide attribution, even for translations. You can still use Template:Translated page at a banner on this talk page to address the issue. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 23:44, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I've gotten better about mentioning translations in the edit summary, but there were a number of pages where I hadn't done so, and in response to that old comment I had gotten on my talk page, I think I successfully went to all of those and created a talk page topic more or less identical to this one to address the issue – I didn't know about the template. I've added it here, but there isn't a quick way to systematically find exactly which were the other pages I did this in, so I'll add it to them as I come across them. Anyway, I had only ever done this from other language Wikipedia projects, never from articles within more restrictive copyright licenses. Thiagovscoelho (talk) 14:48, 26 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
