Who Wrote This Brochure?[edit]

This whole article reads like an ad, and was written by someone who largely doesn't know what he/she is talking about.

The studio was "produced on location" makes no sense, "From the moment it went on the air" is idiotic because recording studios aren't on the air, and "Linn Drums (first drum synthesizer)" is just plain wrong, the Linn machine was not a synthesizer and that was the whole point of it, it is famous only because it wasn't a synthesizer.

It says that "Artists liked the laidback atmosphere and found that the environment found in that barn fostered creativtiy." Wow, this writer sure has a lot of "creativtiy".

Just the first section of the article uses the words/terms: historic, world famous, award-winning, successful, impressive, an institution, most successful, instant success, most respected reputation for technical excellence, and boasted. This is an advertisement, and quite a pointless one, they went broke and closed down.

It says "During the ‘70’s and ‘80’s, there was hardly a rock album in record stores that did not have some credit to the famous studio."

Really?

Hardly a rock album not recorded there? This is silly, Steely Dan put this place on the map and the majority of their records weren't even recorded there.

Can someone rewrite or just delete this trash? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.127.100.199 (talk) 00:24, 3 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What *is* this article?[edit]

It's like a Wikipedia policy page squished on top of a spam article (or is it the other way around?). Even the edit history doesn't make sense to me. I came here by accident, looking for a notability guideline.. now I'm even more confused. :X SMC (talk) 11:17, 7 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed per Help Desk request. ---— Gadget850 (Ed) talk 14:25, 7 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Just made an effort to prune down the page, cut the crap - including the blatant advertising and silly claims already pointed out. Guess I cut about 70% of the text, which was unavoidable.Strausszek (talk) 02:42, 27 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Tone[edit]

The tone of this article does not seem appropriate for an encylopedia. For example, "After spending years on the road and logging time in countless studios across the country as a band, The Robbs had become acquainted with just about every unwelcome situation typical of the life of a touring musician at the time." This is too casual and not encyclopedic. There are other problems, such as lack of referencing and some weasel wording in the lead, but I think this is the main issue. - AdamBMorgan (talk) 12:53, 3 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
