  • It would be more accurate, and therefore preferable, to say something like, "Chicago-style barbecue is cooked in an indoor smoker that looks like an aquarium." Mudwater (Talk) 10:01, 25 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Overall: "... that Chicago-style barbecue is cooked in an aquarium smoker?" would resolve Mudwater's concern.

"Leon's Bar-B-Q is credited with the popularization of this dish." is not supported by the given source. One of the other sources likely supports that statement. Alternatively, a different page might do the same thing.

Add a page number to the Chicago: A Food Biography citation. The link leads to it, but the reference does not state it. ―Susmuffin Talk 22:08, 25 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for reviewing! Alright I added page numbers and changed the line about the popularization of the dish so I can cite a different source. I like the last version of the hook more because I think it keeps some of the mystery about what an aquarium smoker is without being misleading. @AllWeKnowOfHeaven: To be clear, what hook to you prefer? "... that Chicago-style barbecue is cooked in an aquarium smoker?", right? (If yes, I like it too.) Mudwater (Talk) 20:03, 26 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Mudwater: Yeah, that's the one! I think it's a good balance. AllWeKnowOfHeaven (talk) 20:05, 26 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I am not sure it is ok to say that "all" Chicago-style barbecue is made in an aquarium style smoker. It seems to be one style that began in chicago. I will promote the hook because it may just be my own reading is incorrect and it seems a unique Chicago style smoker. Lightburst (talk) 14:43, 2 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
