NPOV

[edit]

I tagged the article as not maintaining a neutral point-of-view for the following statement: The school was founded, in part, to increase the number of minorities in agricultural careers, since most of the African-American farmers in the US have been forced out of business by the racist policies of the US Department of Agriculture.

I am unfamiliar with the school, the context, and the USDA policies being referenced, so I encourage someone to clean up this sentence and perhaps the remainder of the article. --Daysleeper47 15:29, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I removed it since it's defamatory if not justified and the source given does not justify the claim. A cursory search suggests it's not a notable aspect of the school's foundation if anything. JNSQ (talk) 16:14, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Assessment

[edit]

I am giving this article a preliminary assessment of start and mid. The article is slightly better referenced now, and has an infobox, but still has a long way to go in terms of discussing history and the school's unique curriculum. I am giving the school a "mid" importance ranking because of the assertion that it is unique (Chicago's last farm) and being one of only a few secondary schools in the United States centered around an agricultural curriculum.
