Sound file[edit]

Someone might make a recording of the fountain and embed the sound file in the article. I haven't ever created a sound file, but here's an example of what's possible:

  • Based on a Renaissance fountain, it was originally painted white and included a statuette of a boy, possibly depicting Cupid. However, the figure was damaged and permanently removed from the sculpture before or during the 1940s. can you combine these sentences? Do you know the specific fountain, or was it based on Renaissance fountains generally?

  • The fountain was restored in 1960, but no longer functioned. Its condition was deemed "treatment urgent" by the Smithsonian Institution's "Save Outdoor Sculpture!" program in February 1994. can you transition these sentences better?
    • Can you be more specific? No sources speak to its condition between 1960 and 1994.   • I'm not sure why you need to cite two books that are essentially the same in reference seven

  • Because someone might find either one helpful? Because they were published 5 years apart and by different publishers? I don't see the harm in keeping both, but I don't feel strongly enough to refuse removing one of them if that is required to pass the GA review.   • How did the City of Portland's Metropolitan Arts Commission come to own the fountain? Can you mention its ownership in the text?
    • No source mentioned ownership transfers. Only the Smithsonian source mentioned an administering organization. The sound recording certainly would be a nice addition. I don't know where you'd fit a locator map, but the coordinates would be a nice addition as well. If you can find it on Google Maps, the URL contains the coordinates. Seattle (talk) 21:32, 24 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I think it is at 45.521333,-122.702667, but I am not understanding how to add this information to the "coord" template properly. Google Maps uses decimal degrees, and our templates use degrees, minutes, and seconds. I used slightly different coordinates for the conversion, from here. Do you think our coordinate system looks approximately correct? Seattle (talk) 00:45, 25 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
They should be all set now. What you can do to add coordinates the right way is copy the formatting from other articles or look at the directions and examples at {{coord}}. Jsayre64 (talk) 05:51, 25 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
