COI

[edit]

There is a conflict of interest with user:83.254.214.192. Up until 20 October, 83.254.214.192 was the IP address of the Web Server for a company called Pichat, as a result the article Pichat was speedily deleted for non-notability and blatant advertising. However, this user was not only involved in promoting his own company, his edit record also shows that he has been actively engaged in targeting rival software products and deleting information about them from articles whilst at the same time adding "Pichat", as can be seen by examining this article before and after his involvement in it. When confronted with the COI both on his talk page, and here

  • he denied point blank any involvement with software products and Pichat
  • moved the Pichat web server, so that his IP address seems to belong to another organisation
  • and joined Swedish Wikipedia, where the very first article he created was "Pichat" as can be seen here

So it's pretty obvious he has an involvement with the company and seems intent on editing articles where there is an obvious conflict of interest, insisting on altering or removing information about his company's competitors. This information has been posted on the COI noticeboard. But anyone editing this page should be aware. 90.59.248.88 (talk) 08:28, 24 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Why do you think it's the company of this user? At the project page of Pichat.net is shown that everyone can install this webserver not only the creators of Pichat. Where do you see the relation between this IP address and this company? 77.181.251.44 (talk) 11:06, 25 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup

[edit]

Hello all,

I've been making cleanups to this article, while it seems that several editors have been re-adding non-notable entries. The entries appear promotional and the editors might have a conflict of interest with the entries placed.

@FockeWulf FW 190: I just performed another cleanup. What do you think about conserving comparison articles, such as this, to entries which already has a Wikipedia article? Wouldn't this deter the use of comparison articles for promotional purposes? 185.213.154.168 (talk) 19:39, 2 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
