Location[edit]

I added some detail on the location to this page, which was deleted with the edit summary "unsourced changes: please read WP:CITE and WP:RS on how to source your edits. thanks". So, what seems to be the problem here? I am well aware of WP:RS and WP:CITE; On the other hand, WP:NOTCITE and WP:OBV point out that if something is obvious then shouldn’t require sourcing; and a quick look at the map (here) bears out what has been posted. I also thought it was customary to post a cite request in situations like this, rather than simply deleting stuff out of hand. Swanny18 (talk) 21:25, 9 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The claim that William Brown Street is "the only street in the United Kingdom to consist of nothing other than museums, galleries and libraries" is a quite a claim. If it is so obvious please add a citation - I have looked for one and cannot immediately see one. If I have missed an obvious source, then I apologise. Dormskirk (talk) 22:10, 9 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough: I have to confess I adapted the paragraph from the Walker Art Gallery page without checking it (though it sounded plausible enough); I have already addressed the problem there. Do I take it though that you have no issue with the other material that was deleted? Swanny18 (talk) 21:41, 11 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi - It would be more normal to see any details of location in the lead, and the history and architecture sections fully referenced. So, if you were add a bit to to the lead (e.g. the name of the street and adjacent buildings) that would be fine with me. Dormskirk (talk) 21:57, 11 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
