Pronunciation
[edit]Is this pronounced Cro-so-ite or Cro-co-ite?RSido (talk) 02:58, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
- At least in the Pacific Northwest the second pronunciation is correct.--Kevmin (talk) 03:40, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
- Same here in Tasmania. Noodle snacks (talk) 02:51, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
- Since it is from the same root as the Crocus flower, referring to the color, krō'kō-īt would be correct. But I'll admit to pronouncing it krŏk'ō-īt, since I associate in my head with "crocodile" (it's going to be difficult to break that habit). • Astynax talk 19:09, 5 December 2009 (UTC)

Uses
[edit]- I may not be a scientist, but shouldn't a page about a mineral include details of some of its real world uses? bwmcmaste (talk) 04:31, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
- Seems like it'd be quite poisonous, as it contains both lead and hexavalent chromium. Stonemason89 (talk) 21:22, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
- The article states that this is used for paint. Can someone verify that it is still being used for paint? For years, lead paint has been undesireable. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.71.94.32 (talk) 01:46, 19 April 2010 (UTC)
