Multiple issues[edit]

This article has multiple issues, as noted in my edit summaries. Claims on Wikipedia have to [[WP:|verified]] by cited reliable sources. Wikipedia policy is that uncited claims in biographies of living persons may be immediately removed. I've put in cite requests for the moment. As I noted in my edit summaries, Pennebaker is a giant among documentary filmmakers, and deserves better than hypey blurbs with WP:PEACOCK words and an inappropriately aggrandizing tone. Please see these bluelinked Wikipedia policies and guidelines before editing further. -- 207.237.230.157 (talk) 21:57, 4 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I think that the article needs verifiable citations, and needs to be much better written. I undid all the edits that the anonymous user did today, because I do not believe in anonymous edits. Having said that, this article does not do justice to the importance that Pennebaker had on late 20th century filmmaking, especially in the United States and Canada. I'll likely do some work on this article, later in April or early May, if no one else does. I'm too busy trying to get a few articles up to FAC this month.Abebenjoe (talk) 03:22, 5 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Deletions from list of films[edit]

Three or four films solely by Richard Leacock had found their way into the list of Pennebaker films. This was an understandable error, since all dated from the period of Leacock-Pennebaker Inc. For accuracy they have been deleted. 71.167.227.192 (talk) 02:13, 13 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:Suckcess.jpg[edit]

File:Suckcess.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a non-free use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
