Plot details[edit]

@Wonchop: What is the source of this? Is it the trailer? If so, please specify that, because the article that is used as reference does not even mention Makoto. Additionally, the Anime News Network source does not mention Nitroplus, so I don't see why we should.--IDVtalk 12:12, 2 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Basically the fact that the promo image clearly has an image depicting Makoto, Aoi and Kyoko, meaning they are involved in the story. Other stuff just gives clarification based on what the predecessors covered. "It's set after these two games" is not exactly a plot summary. Wonchop (talk) 14:51, 2 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I would like to not make any guesses when it comes to this series, since it's known for not going where you expect it to.--IDVtalk 19:27, 2 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The promo image resembles Hajime not Makoto. The shackles also make far more sense if you have played the second game. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 196.192.190.86 (talk) 21:51, 4 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Two episode lists[edit]

Two series, running two episodes a week at different times so I suggest two episode lists. [1] AngusWOOF (barksniff) 20:51, 12 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Voice cast[edit]

I don't think I am alone in thinking that the current presentation looks messy, with its combination of Japanese and English voice actors. I was at first thinking about changing to a table similarly to how it's done in Nausicaä, but considering the large ensemble casts I think that would take up way too much of the article (I think the table in Nausicaä is bordering on too large, too). Would it be all right to remove the cast list entirely considering we have a character list and are linking to it from this article? Or are there any other solutions?--IDVtalk 19:21, 14 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I would remove the cast list altogether and move the information to the character list. The cast table format is more for films, but this is an anime series with lots of characters so it wouldn't make sense to have a separate table like that. Hello, I am planning on reviewing this article for GA Status, over the next couple of days. Thank you for nominating the article for GA status. I hope I will learn some new information, and that my feedback is helpful.

If nominators or editors could refrain from updating the particular section that I am updating until it is complete, I would appreciate it to remove a edit conflict. Please address concerns in the section that has been completed above (If I've raised concerns up to references, feel free to comment on things like the lede.)

I generally provide an overview of things I read through the article on a first glance. Then do a thorough sweep of the article after the feedback is addressed. After this, I will present the pass/failure. I may use strikethrough tags when concerns are met. Even if something is obvious why my concern is met, please leave a message as courtesy.

Best of luck! you can also use the {{done}} tag to state when something is addressed. Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs)

Please let me know after the review is done, if you were happy with the review! Obviously this is regarding the article's quality, however, I want to be happy and civil to all, so let me know if I have done a good job, regardless of the article's outcome.

Immediate Failures[edit]

  • It is a long way from meeting any one of the six good article criteria -
  • It contains copyright infringements -
  • It has, or needs, cleanup banners that are unquestionably still valid. These include{{cleanup}}, {{POV}}, {{unreferenced}} or large numbers of {{citation needed}}, {{clarify}}, or similar tags. (See also {{QF-tags}}). -
  • It is not stable due to edit warring on the page. -

Lede[edit]

Giving another anime.
  • Is this really a mystery anime? Who actually suggested it was this genre? Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 18:00, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The reviewer and Kodaka himself calls it mystery. The Future arc does feel like proper sequel based on the killing game mystery as suggested by the reviewer. Kodaka called it a mystery anime not only because of how he conceived two parallel stories that are completely connected. Same with one of the actors, Morikawa, who claims Kyosuke Munakata can only be understood when watching both arcs.
  • The lede talks about the directors, but should we not talk about the studio before this? Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 18:00, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Done
Done
  • Isn't the "hope arc" just a single episode, might be worth mentioning. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 18:00, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Done.
Done
  • The series was the final chapter of the "Hope's Peak Academy" series within the Danganronpa franchise. - you've said this already, no? Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 18:00, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Deleted.
  • The Hope Arc finale earned positive responses for properly closing - this feels a bit definitive to be said in wikipedia's voice. We could omit "properly", unless we have a suitable direct quote Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 18:00, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Fixed.

General[edit]

  • Most of the characters linked in the plot section redirect to the character list. Are any of these notable enough for a standalone article? Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 18:16, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Done
Revised
  • So links in the lede also need to be linked in the body on first usage, such as with "Danganronpa franchise" in Conception. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 18:16, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Done
  • Danganronpa development staff said that while it was difficult to work on both titles simultaneously - I think it is worth stating that the development of this anime happened between DR2 and the third game before this, or it reads a bit confusing. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 18:16, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Added tidbit.
  • Kodaka is another example, he hasn't been suggested outside of the lede, and then the article talks about what he said and did. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 18:16, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Revised
Done
  • He said some fans called the idea of a happy ending pandering, but Kodaka said he wanted to give the cast this type of ending because of the games' contrasting conclusions - not sure why Kodaka's name is randomly in the middle of this sentence, as he said both things here. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 18:16, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Revised
  • Kodaka's name is used 24 times in two subsections. I think this could be less repetitive. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 18:16, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Revised
  • Danganronpa: The Animation - we have an article on this. It is linked on the second usage, not the first. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 18:16, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • odaka oversaw the scripts and found it "unbearable" the meetings were eight hours long per week. - we should cite any quotes directly with a citation at the end of the sentence. This happens a couple times. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 18:16, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Done.
Done.
  • In the reception section, quite a few times the article talks about how publications recommended the anime, but we should say that the author recommended them. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 18:16, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Done with the reviewers who made reviews in regards to the anime itself. Other reviews are focused on single episodes since it was watched in this format back in 2016 based on its popularity.
  • There's four citations to Amazon, do we not have a better source for this? Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 18:16, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The thing with Amazon is that Funimation's official website is locked to other regions. All other regions including Japanese release are linked to the primary accessible sources.
Added extra scores if that's what you claimed about reviewers btw.Tintor2 (talk) 21:06, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Review meta comments[edit]

@Lee Vilenski: Thanks for reviewing it.Tintor2 (talk) 12:12, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

    • No issue. I had the article on my watchlist so I'll pick it up. I have played the games through, and had a quick watch of this anime before. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 17:52, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Lee Vilenski: Gave the article a big revision because of your comments. However, I can't remove the amazon DVD links due to Funimation blocking their site to other regions, making it less accessible.Tintor2 (talk) 20:25, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • @Tintor2: Hello I'm going to jump in here. It seems like you have an issue with region-blocking. I live in an area where Funimation is not blocked, so I can help, just tell me what to do. Link20XX (talk) 22:15, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Lee Vilenski: @Link20XX: You see, the home media release of Funimation can be found here and here. However, since I'm not an American, I don't have access to this site. I don't what source is better to use so in case be bold. Thanks Link20XX for coming.Tintor2 (talk) 22:58, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Tintor2: Either should be fine. The second link you sent is the original release, and the first is their essentials re-release, which basically is how they re-release older titles for less money. The original set is now out of print but the re-release is still purchasable. Link20XX (talk) 23:01, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Link20XX: Then I guess both are worthmentioning if you could add them.Tintor2 (talk) 23:04, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Tintor2: Done. I also added some additional information. Link20XX (talk) 23:21, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Anyway, I believe my involvement here is done so have a great day and best of luck towards getting this article to GA. Link20XX (talk) 23:41, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Lee Vilenski: Link20XX replaced the Amazon links with primary sources (Funimation). Funimation and Amazon also mentioned that the anime also belongs to the horror genre so I added it alongside the source. Is there another issue you think should be fixed?Tintor2 (talk) 17:10, 7 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I much prefer the primary source to amazon, as they get their release date/metadata from places and it isn't very reliable. Happy to pass. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 09:58, 8 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Blu-ray box[edit]

I uploaded the image for the characters but it's kinda a mess now that I think about it. Should it be removed?Tintor2 (talk) 17:52, 18 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
