New topic[edit]

New topic - Title of article. Demographics of the Middle East should be changed to Demography of the Middle East. New topic - Misleading statistics In the numbers of people of each religion, no distinction is made between natives and foreign residents. This distinction is crucial in Arabian petroleum exporting countries, where most of the population is foreign and, crucially, has no prospect or intention of becoming citizens or attaining any status conferring civil or political rights of any sort. For example, Hindus and Buddhists are listed as part of the Middle East population. Saudi Arabia has a large Christians population. This manner of presenting numbers seems misleading. Needs cleanup[edit]

This Article really needs Cleanup. The Sections, for instance, are not very well organized. The Overview is confusing; it is hard to read that section comfortably. The "Historical" section sounds like an Interesting Thing, but it only focuses on the year 1600. I can Imagine a whole lot more sections, but this Page at the moment, is in need of much Cleanup. Very disturbing reporting bias in this article[edit]

The preamble to the table does not include Jews, but does include several religious groups that are much less populous. The historical populations in 1600 are described according to current national borders, but then Israel is again omitted. In terms of demographics, it should also report cultural groups. Certainly Turkish Muslims, Iranian Muslims, Arab Muslims are not all one cultural/ethnic group. 73.140.87.31 (talk) 16:39, 22 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
