Dre Recieving Production Credits On Songs He Didnt Touch

Dre didnt TOUCH I Need A Doctor or Kush, he is not a co-producer for either track. Both produced respectively by Alex da Kid & Khalil, please remove his production credit. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.135.44.98 (talk) 03:07, 5 August 2011 (UTC) yes he did. he mixed the song. 91.176.99.103 (talk) 14:55, 7 October 2011 (UTC) Mixing & producing are NOT the same thing, he doesnt share co-production at ALL.

Rumors

"There have also been rumors that the famous producer had completed the album some time back but was not satisfied with it, and instead sold the beats to former Aftermath Entertainment artist The Game. Dr. Dre wanted to concentrate on producing artists that were on his Aftermath label, such as 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes, Eminem and Eve, which is why he once said he would no longer be working on the album."

This should probably be removed. First of all it is a rumor and second it is an outdated rumor. As part of the first paragraph of the article it implies that he is no longer working on the album when we all know he had has since said it is coming out this year. 153.18.17.22 18:41, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

i believe the reason Detox has been delayed is because of the problems with Mel-Man. He probably did make the album with him but after he left dre gave up. Then he started over again in 2005. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Siwhat (talkcontribs) 05:23, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, I had been trying to add the Busta Rhymes's "Just Gettin Warm" reference for a month, and someone kept deleting it, even though it was fine the way I had it. But the references section does look a lot cleaner. Thanks a lot. --71.139.192.39 18:02, 15 April 2007 (UTC)

Why

Y do u need a references section its real satisfing that that there was a reference on a song

I don't understand what you're saying. Do you mean people should find out for themselves when listening to the song and it shouldn't be provided here? It's just the site is designed to provide information, and it's purpose is to provide all the information that we have.

Timbaland

Can anyone confirm is Timbaland is going to be a producer on Detox? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Volumesoxxs (talkcontribs) 22:19, 11 April 2007 (UTC).

Here you go:

New Tracklisting

Whoever put the new track listing up needs to have a source. Volumesoxxs

list

"Dr. Dre has said that he wants to try include everyone he has ever worked with on the album, therefore Possible Guest appearances on Detox could include..."

Thats ridiculous. I don't think you realize how many people Dre has worked with. Putting a list of everyone he has ever worked with would list in the hundreds. I'm getting rid of it. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 64.105.137.160 (talk) 05:30, 12 May 2007 (UTC).

I Put that list on there coz there was already a list on there with some joke names and people he has never worked with so i replaced it with a list of names of people he has worked with. Dre himself said he wants to include everyone he has ever worked with on Detox when he called Power 106. although the list i made may not have been the full list of people he has worked with it wasnt missing that many and i dont think it was missing any that stand any chance of getting on Detox, it did have a good 40 or so names of the rappers he has ever made anything of significance with and who are currently active and are most likely are going to be the people that have guest appearances on Detox - I would be suprised if there is anyone on the final album that i didnt include on that list

dre actually pointed out there would be a surprise guest

Also I think Stat Quo should be listed as he stated in an interview he is in L.A working with Dre on Detox. volumesoxxs 10:04, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

Mentions in other artists' music

Jay-Z is the latest one to mention this, again i wud add this myself but id probs get the grammar wrong or sumthin ya feel. He did it on the Amy Winehouse Rehab Remix (http://www.defsounds.com/singles/view/1552-amy-winehouse-feat-jay-z-rehab-remix.html) in Jays verse he say: "get the fantom to drop,"place" base snearin out the system, that's how i DETOX".

Maybe you're not so bright? :S Jaz-y is talking about real detox when you're clearing your system from drugs/alcohol. Btw. This remix sucks, nothing new except for jaz-y verse. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.53.25.9 (talk) 10:09, August 30, 2007 (UTC)

Hey who took off the part about Eminem's song Encore/Curtains Down. He clearly mentions Dre's Detox album, put it back. If you don't believe me listen to the end of the unedited version of the song!!!!!!!!!!!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jmilisc9 (talkcontribs)

I know how the song goes, and this isn't the only mention of Detox in a song. Believe me. We had a list for a while, but without sources, we can't put it up. And, unless you have a source saying this happened, and a notable reason for this, it will stay out. --JpGrB 22:49, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

Ok first of all, if you look on the wiki page of Encore/Curtains down, it has the same thing. Second of all, we should have the source be a 30 second sample of the song itself. Third, you know the Focus interview with MTV, he talks about Em's upcoming album and Detox. I am going to add that. Here is the page, http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1582507/20080228/eminem.jhtml Go there, and maybe you can add it. He CLEARLY mentions Detox, his work with it and when it will be released. JpGrB, try and add a 30 second sample of the song Encore by Eminem and then you can have it on the page.

Expect Detox to be a DOUBLE album —Preceding unsigned comment added by Siwhat (talkcontribs) 05:26, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

Boss' Life

When Snoop says "If my nigga's detoxin there's more for me" I think hes just using detox as the verb, getting rid of the marijuana in their system, thus Snoop Dogg will have more weed.

nah, i think hes sayin that as long as dre is workin on detox, hell still be rappin - NJ Rock

No, I didn't notice if you or anyone else was right about anything. I do tend to notice if info is sourced or not. - Mdsummermsw (talk) 16:17, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
So, what about rumors? Rumors are rumors. If they are sourced put it on Wikipedia, if they're only rumors don't. Otherwise, I would already write hundreds of rumors that i heard about Detox, like that the album will never get out, but its singles will. But that's only rumors and Wikipedia is not a place for rumors. Start WikiRumors or something if you like them so much. 89.201.181.235 (talk) 11:09, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
There is an interview with The DOC on DubCNN.com and it mentions some stuff about detox but pretty much the impression i got from it is that any information you've heard abiout the album is probably not true because dre is keeping everything a secret about the album. Duder999 (talk) 20:23, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

I also doubt a June 2008 release is verifiable; Fresh Hip Hop News doesn't look too much of a reliable source in my humble opinion - given that it's backed by Wordpress (Wikipedia should avoid linking to self-published sources, especially if they make claims about living people). Thus, I'll change it to 2008 in general as the media has frequently reported.--Andrewlp1991 (talk) 20:54, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

C Major only referred to it as King Matthers because thats what the interviewer called it when he asked him about it.

I had just posted the interviews because it mentioned both, and the reason I made mention of C-Major calling it "King Mathers", was because he possibly could've corrected the interviewer. That is the only reason I made mention of it. --JpGrB 06:22, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

No head to head

It is unlikely that Dr. Dre will release his album at the same time with Eminem and 50 cent. They will not challenge each other because they work together. Death of Dre's son and its effect on album, release date, etc.

Dr. Dre's 20 year old son died August 30th, 2008, unexpectedly. I'm certain this will have an effect on the release date, and perhaps even the content as I could imagine the artist just dropping some parts of the project due to the understandable depression and/or exhaustion stemming from such a tragedy. Anyone with verifiable information should submit it on "Detox" page, asap. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.165.5.167 (talk) 09:56, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

I havn't seen anything on his son's death effecting the album. We really shouldn't add anything unless theres a source. This kinda reminds me of the last song in 2001 that was called "The Message", that he wrote about his brothers death. -- Coasttocoast (talk) 22:48, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

I honestly think that the fact his son passed away, we are going to see a later release of Detox, possibly next summer (2009). So if Dre makes a public announcement that this will effect Detox, we will not see anything mentioning that in the article. But, I think we won't see Detox this year, because Eminem is silent about his project and Dre said that he will release this album after Em's.

R.I.P. Detox and R.I.P. Jr. Dre.

Release year

With Relapse going to be released in 2009 per HipHopDX.com news, and Detox being released after Relapse, I think the release year of Detox should be changed to 2009 unless someone disagrees HipHopDX.com is reliable. Daniil Maslyuk (talk) 02:31, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

Well why does that site say "Relapse" will be released in 2009 when Eminem said it would be released by the end of 2008? I really doubt that Hiphop DX is more reliable then Eminem himself. SE KinG (talk) 02:36, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

Now I think that since Wikipedia is about verifiability and not necessarily truth, changing release year without a source would be original research, even though 50 Cent said it's Before I Self Destruct (which has officially been pushed back to 2009), then Relapse and then Detox. It's still sourced as 08. Until it is sourced differently (or 08 is over), it should stay that way. --HELLØ ŦHERE 02:26, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

2009 or TBA

So you think Dre's just going to pull a fast one from his ass and release Detox between today on 11/22 and 12/31, despite a cover, singles, or any REAL information from Dre himself?

You want source? Em did say it was to be released after his comes out, and his album already got pushed back to 2009.

I dont know exactly where it is, but its somewhere in his Relapse article —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.98.70.74 (talk) 13:04, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

Long story short, yes, we want a source. Thanks. - SummerPhD (talk) 19:40, 24 November 2008 (UTC)

Again, I'll pass. We need a reliable source, not a blog, for a date. And simply removing the "Released" section isn't a good idea either. How's this? Köbra | Könverse 15:59, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

it should be TBA because its now 14 July 2009 and there has not been ONE source stating that its going to come out in 2009. Its already more than half way through the year and there's been no details or talk about the album, no other artists such as Bishop Lamont, Eminem have said anything recently about the album which makes me wonder if its going to come out at all. No singles, no tracklisting, no album cover, compare that with other upcoming albums. Until there's recent and reliable source saying that its going to come out in 2009 or even 2010 it should just be TBA. Siwhat (talk) 07:29, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

Today's date means nothing in comparison to the rest of the year. It is sourced as coming out after two 2009 albums. We've had it as "TBA" numerous times and it doesn't make much of a difference. Also, I must ask why you deleted another entire section on this talk page to make your above comment? --HELLØ ŦHERE 07:40, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

entire section? i deleted one coz it was some question made about 3 years ago or something, that had been answered, this page seems like a mess and i didn't think it was a big deal.

Yeah its stated as coming out after 50 cents album but it never said how long after, it never said it was gonna come out in the same year as 50 cent and Eminems albums all it said was that it was coming out after, it could be half a year after 50 cents album. i mean just check out other artists who have albums coming out this year like Raekwon, The Game, 50 Cent etc. They're all doing tours, releasing mixtapes, doing interviews, releasing singles, even the track listing for 50 cents album has been released along with a release date of November 17, has Detox got any of these things? Seems unusual for an album presumed to be released between November-December. I dont' think they'd release it in October only 1 month after 50 Cents album. I think that source for it coming out after 50 Cents album was also made last year, seems unusual that none of the artists have really even mentioned the album at all this year.

Siwhat (talk) 01:50, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

One of the biggest problems is that Detox was originally sourced as 2004 then basically every subsequent year. The idea of when the statement was made doesn't really seem to matter much, especially since it all builds up anticipation and each one gives a little more clearance on why it is taking so long and when it will eventually be released. If you'd like to change it to TBA, that's fine, but it doesn't really seem professional. To me at least. --HELLØ ŦHERE 05:05, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

The thing is like many others I've been waiting years for the release and every year people say "its coming out this year" and it doesn't end up coming out. For the first couple years yeah that built up anticipation but after that all it did was leave people disappointed when it didn't come out like people said it was going to. Then it just adds to the doubts about it ever coming out when they get disappointed every year. That's why I think it should be changed from 09 to tba because it leaves doubts when really Dre never even said it was going to come out that year. Siwhat (talk) 07:58, 20 September 2009 (UTC)

If we went by the logic of what Dre said or didn't say, then we couldn't necessarily third party sources which is exactly what we're supposed to use on Wikipedia. Believe me, I'm waiting for this album too, and I get disappointed every year. But, by Wikipedia policies, verification over truth, it's perfectly fine to have it in there. --HELLØ ŦHERE 15:52, 20 September 2009 (UTC)

Detoxification

There's this album for sale everywhere and this site talks about it like it is an album and not a mixtape ([[2]]), it's called detoxification, what about it?
thug_n_g, 14:00 CET, 18 december 2008 —Preceding undated comment was added at 13:01, 18 December 2008 (UTC).

I'm pretty sure it's not the actual Detox CD. I have it, and I'd estimate that half of the tracks don't actually have any of Dr Dre's vocals on them, which just seems really weird. I'd say Mixtape.129.21.149.59 (talk) 02:49, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
It's a pre-album mixtape. SE KinG. User page. Talk. 05:03, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

you'd have to be stupid to think that was actually Detox, few of the songs feature Dr. Dre some of them are just freestyles over Dre's old beats, some of them are other songs produced by Dr. Dre. Siwhat (talk) 07:29, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

Could Have Been You

MTV confirms this song was for Detox. It is unknown if it will still be on the album.[4] SE KinG. User page. Talk. 12:44, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

From what I can see, it doesn't seem to be confirmed, just from the sessions. --HELLØ ŦHERE 22:10, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
Dr. Dre's label Interscope has yet to issue a comment, however a source close to Dre's camp tells us the legendary producer was expecting the song to be on Detox and is furious with the tune being leaked so early, especially since it wasn't mixed and mastered. Several of the Web sites that posted the song Wednesday have since taken it down — according to another source, they caught serious heat from Dre's camp.
It might not be 100% confirmed but it was still on the roster for possible songs. SE KinG. User page. Talk. 22:23, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
Well then, why not add it with something like that; "A song was leaked in early January 2009, that features R. Kelly, 50 Cent, and Bishop Lamont. Although the song has not been confirmed for the album, a report has stated it was on Dre's tentative tracklist." Maybe not that exact wording, but something like that. Just my opinion. --HELLØ ŦHERE 22:38, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

The Game on Detox?

A picture was released with The Game, Snoop, and Dr. Dre in the studio. It was also posted in Game's Twitter that they were working on some Detox stuff. (71.99.18.202 (talk) 05:44, 5 October 2009 (UTC))

Create a release date section...

It seems like 90% of the Background section is just sources stating potential release dates. And since whenever people seem to bring up Detox the first thing that is thought of is it being pushed back. So to shorten the Background section, should a release date section be created and the release information moved? SE KinG. User page. Talk. 03:37, 6 April 2010 (UTC)

2011 Release

Dr. Dre said in the March edition of Slam magazine that there will be no news on Detox until "a year or so".

Confirmed guests?

Even given the running joke nowadays that Detox is largely a myth, why is there still a confirmed guests section on this page? I have a hard time imagining Eminem, 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, Jay-Z, Nas, Lil' Wayne, Drake, The Game, Ice Cube, Common, T.I., Busta Rhymes, R. Kelly, Pharrell, Ashanti, Fergie, and Lady Gaga will all end up on Detox. Like the album itself, I'll believe Dr. Dre has assembled the top 500 rappers in the industry and confirmed all of them on Detox when I see the actual CD. —Preceding unsigned comment added by JesusSinfulHands (talkcontribs) 12:43, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
