Please add atleast auto confirmed user protection[edit]

in previous days many vandal attacks took place, so atleast add a temporary protection to this article. RamaKrishnaHare (talk) 16:50, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@RamaKrishnaHare: The proper venue to request for page protection is, unsurprisingly, Wikipedia:Requests for page protection. I personally don't see enough recent vandalism that would warrant any sort of protection, so I don't recommend you requesting for one. — DVRTed (Talk) 18:48, 19 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi[edit]

His father was not pithadish but it was sanyasi baba and his grandfather. 2603:8001:3C40:21B2:39FB:1FDC:DA7D:29FA (talk) 01:28, 24 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary dump for stray citations[edit]

The article needs cleaning up, so that citations are placed against facts they actually mention. The following are probably useful but were wrongly placed against facts they did not support. They have been moved here so they are not lost.-- Toddy1 (talk) 16:57, 26 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • "Covid या आतंकी हमले का पहले से पता क्यों नहीं चला? धीरेंद्र कृष्ण शास्त्री ने दिया ये जवाब". आज तक (in Hindi). 2023-01-21. Archived from the original on 2023-01-22. Retrieved 2023-01-22.
Archived from the original on 2023-01-22. Retrieved 2023-01-22.

The following citations were originally given for He is Hindu Spiritual Leader popularly known as Bageshwar Dham Maharaj. I have not checked whether they did support it. Following edits by BeLucky, they were left next to Shastri recites stories at Bageshwar Dham in Chhatarpur in Madhya Pradesh. That already had a citation that was checked as supporting the statement. I have therefore moved the stray citations here.

The middle one supports the "Maharaj" name claim (in writing not video), so I have applied strikethrough to it above and put it back in the article next to the fact it is being cited for.-- Toddy1 (talk) 10:05, 30 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Two more stray citations - these are from the "family" section:

The two citations were given for: Born on the 4 July 1996 in Gada village of Chhatarpur district. He was the eldest of two children to Saroj Garg (mother) and Ram Kripal Garg (father) and was brought up in a Hindu Saryupareen Brahmin family where his father works as a priest. The text of the citations does not support this statement, so the citations have been moved to the talk page. The other two citations given for the paragraph in the "family" section support everything except the caste claim.

The first citation is a video - maybe the soundtrack of the video supports something - text can be read through automatic translation, a video cannot.-- Toddy1 (talk) 12:06, 30 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Good News Today - Is this a reliable source?[edit]

"Bageshwar Dham: कौन हैं पंडित धीरेंद्र शास्त्री, जानिए उनका कथा वाचक से बागेश्वर धाम महाराज बनने तक का सफर" [Bageshwar Dham: Who is Pandit Dhirendra Shastri, know his journey from story teller to becoming Maharaja of Bageshwar Dham]. Good News Today (in Hindi). 21 January 2023. Archived from the original on 22 January 2023.

Honoured in the Parliament of London

His journey of fame which started with social media two years back has reached across 7 seas. He was honoured in the Parliament of London on 14 June 2022. Dhirendra Krishna Shastri is discussed because there is a crowd of applicants in his 'Divya Darbar'.

Does anything support this claim?

I have no idea whether the room he was in was really in the Houses of Parliament building in London, but whatever was going on was not the parliament in London honouring him. My conclusion is that the source (Good News Today) is misleading and should not be used as a source.-- Toddy1 (talk) 19:03, 26 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Incidentally, the source is cited for him being "an Indian epic narrator (Katha Vachak)". The source says that he is a narrator/story-teller and that devotees consider him an incarnation of God, whilst some other people say that he is someone who promotes superstition.-- Toddy1 (talk) 19:07, 26 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The source does talk about his early life.-- Toddy1 (talk) 19:11, 26 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Instructed by Hanuman[edit]

In the spirituality section, there is a claim made that "Shastri was instructed by Lord Hanuman to become the peethadhish of Bageshwar Dham Sarkar and work for social service".

However, the reference inserted here does not support this claim. Since there is no reference to support the statement, I would like to proceed with its deletion. I have added the reference to the conversation that was inserted in the spirituality section.

Shastri has been accused of tricking people but however those accusations have been proven wrong repeatedly by Shastri himself, his disciples and the court. 41.136.91.19 (talk) 07:25, 31 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. M.Bitton (talk) 11:13, 31 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Misleading line under Hindu Nationalism.[edit]

The line is second paragraph "Asaduddin Owaisi had commented in the past "Remove the police for 15 minutes, we will finish off 100 crore Hindus" is misleading as no citation has been given for it. These words were said by Akbaruddin Owaisi and not Asaduddin Owaisi. MySterystriker (talk) 05:39, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@MySterystriker: You appear to be right. The cited source does not mention the statement, and a quick search has produced numerous sources attributing the quote to Akbaruddin Owaisi, and none to Asaduddin Owaisi, so I have it from the article. JBW (talk) 15:20, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
