- Support - Page views are fairly convincing, even for such a recent song. -- Netoholic @ 17:07, 29 March 2020 (UTC)
- Support - Dua Lipa's song is by far the more well known song. The DAB page is receiving 3 times more page views than the BoA song article. CoolMarc 22:09, 29 March 2020 (UTC)
- Support - An obvious situation. Definitely, a primary topic judging by the views. — Tom(T2ME) 16:58, 30 March 2020 (UTC)
- Support - Mainstream and well known song at the moment. More popular than other "Don't Start Now". — LOVI33 (talk) 22:26, 30 March 2020 (UTC)

Genre
[edit]LOVI33 One or two sources calling it pop and dance when at least 10 have called it Nu-disco is not BEST describing the song per Template:Infobox song. We don't list every genre under the sun, if the vast majority of reputable music sources are calling it a nu-disco song then we WP:STICKTOTHESOURCE Research that consists of collecting and organizing material from existing sources within the provisions of this and other content policies is fundamental to writing an encyclopedia
. It makes no sense to have disco when the more specific nu-disco is already present. Please stop insisting on applying every genre you can think of to infoboxes of song articles.
- Rolling Stone Lipa returned with “Don’t Start Now,” a nu-disco cut
- Crack Magazine "the gold-plated, nu-disco kiss-off of Don't Start Now"
- Slant Magazine "“Don't Start Now,” the nu-disco slower burner"
- musicOMH Preceded by the Moloko-esque nu-disco treasure Don’t Start Now
- PopMatters Premiering her snappy nu-disco single "Don't Start Now" at the 2019 MTV EMA's
- E! Online "This wickedly groovy nu-disco kiss-off track
- Billboard Was a nu-disco track really going to explode in the way that Lipa needed to reach a new level of stardom? In short: yes, albeit slowly.
- MTV News the dazzling nu-disco "Don't Start Now,"
- Forbes Led by nu-disco track 'Don’t Start Now
- Glamour "pumping nu disco anthem"

- Lead
- No issues found. The lead looks great!
- Writing and production
- basslines by the Bee Gees and Daft Punk ---> basslines used by the Bee Gees and Daft Punk
- Reworded. CoolMarc 18:48, 28 April 2020 (UTC)
- he went through 25 different sounds and incorporated them to four ---> change to to into
- Reworded. CoolMarc 18:48, 28 April 2020 (UTC)
- Music and lyrics
- while the chorus follows a Bm–D–Em7–F♯m7–Gmaj7 sequence. ---> maybe change while to whilst? To follow BE rules since Dua is English.
- Reworded. CoolMarc 18:48, 28 April 2020 (UTC)
- Release and promotion
- No issues
- Critical Reception
- In the Los Angeles Times, ---> Maybe, In a review for Los Angeles Times or Writing for Los Angeles Times?
- Reworded. CoolMarc 18:48, 28 April 2020 (UTC)
- musicOMH's Nick Smith described the track as a "Moloko-esque nu-disco treasure",[8] while Robin Murray of Clash called it "a super-infectious disco burner" with "a Chic flavour to the songwriting, given a chrome-plated 2019 overhaul."[48] ---> I feel that this sentence is better suited for Music and lyrics rather than Critical Reception.
- I removed Clash, but kept musicOMH who called the song a "treasure" and the Moloko comparison I feel is valid since Lipa has said they influenced the album. CoolMarc 18:48, 28 April 2020 (UTC)
- The section contains too many quotations. Can you try to re-write them? I know that sometimes is tricky, but it would be nice if you can reduce them a bit.
- I've done some more paraphrasing where possible, is it better now? Some of the quotes cannot paraphrased otherwise they risk misrepresenting the critics view. CoolMarc 18:48, 28 April 2020 (UTC)
- Commercial Performance
- In January 2020, it was certified platinum by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI).[62] As of 17 April 2020, the song has sold 1,037,130 units in the UK.[63] ---> Try to combine these two sentences in one. They are too short by themselves and also related.
- Combined and trimmed. CoolMarc 18:48, 28 April 2020 (UTC)
- On the Irish Singles Chart, "Don't Start Now" debuted at number one, becoming Lipa's fourth chart-topper in Ireland, following 2017's "New Rules" and "IDGAF", and 2018's "One Kiss". ---> IDGAF was released in 2018 as a single, so it's technically a 2018 single.
- Corrected. CoolMarc 18:48, 28 April 2020 (UTC)
- It topped the chart for two consecutive weeks.[65] ---> Again, this sentence is too short to be on its own. Try to combine it.
- Combined. CoolMarc 18:48, 28 April 2020 (UTC)
- Music video
- No issues.
- Live performances
- Lipa performed the song in a red bodysuit at the 2019 American Music Awards on 24 November 2019. ---> maybe you can add that she wore a red suit in the follow-up sentence? It seems kinda trivial here.
- Added to next sentence. CoolMarc 18:48, 28 April 2020 (UTC)
- References
- They look really well organized.
- Thank you! CoolMarc 18:48, 28 April 2020 (UTC)
All in all, great work on the article. It's super ready to be a GA, and with few minor grammar tweaks even to FA. Once the issues are resolved I will promote it to GA. — Tom(T2ME) 17:35, 28 April 2020 (UTC)
- @Tomica: Thanks so much for your kind words and review!! I've responded above. CoolMarc 18:48, 28 April 2020 (UTC)
- Awesome, thanks for the responses. I will be passing this to a GA status. Keep up the good work! — Tom(T2ME) 19:09, 28 April 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you again🙏 CoolMarc 19:36, 28 April 2020 (UTC)
Hayley Williams cover
[edit]Hello everyone. I just wanted to make a note of the following edit as I believe the Hayley Williams cover is actually notable. The cover has been discussed in reliable, third-party sources like Rolling Stone, MTV News, and Consequence of Sound so a brief part on it in the article seems appropriate to me due to this type of coverage. Pinging @Coolmarc: since they are the primary editor of the article. Apologies for the randomness of the message. Just something I thought was worth discussing. Aoba47 (talk) 00:04, 29 May 2020 (UTC)
- Aoba47, sorry I only saw your comment now. I honestly think it's trivial since artists are obliged to perform covers when they appear on Live Lounge. If it were a cover included on a studio album or along those lines I feel it would be worth including. Cool Marc ✉ 16:55, 2 June 2020 (UTC)
- I disagree. Notability should be established through coverage, and this cover received coverage. I have never heard of a cover being considered notable or not if it was released on an album. But this is just my opinion. Aoba47 (talk) 20:19, 2 June 2020 (UTC)
Article history template
[edit]Lovi33, see this, this, and this. Not sure why the peer review closer didn't switch it to the old peer review template, but a reminder to not remove the template, rather build it in to articlehistory. Just an FYI, SandyGeorgia (Talk) 17:35, 28 October 2020 (UTC)
