Research question[edit]

According to this source: Hockey Players Failing to Sign Will Not Lose Standing, by Everett Graeme, April 11, 1933, Winnipeg Free Press, page 8

Gilroy supported the motion to restore the Melville Millionaires as the 1915 Allan Cup champions, and noted many of the team members had died in World War I.

If anyone knows the explanation why the team name was removed from Allan Cup, it would be appreciated. Thanks. Flibirigit (talk) 18:51, 29 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I found the explanation here. Flibirigit (talk) 20:29, 16 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Introductory paragraph question[edit]

The following question was posted on my personal talk page. Flibirigit (talk) 13:40, 10 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Flibirigit, There's a sentence I don't understand in the lede of EA Gilroy. As you've written all of the article, I thought it would be easiest to ask about it here. The sentence is "On the eve of the Olympics, Gilroy chose to allow the two players to participate as a gesture of sportsmanship towards Great Britain, and objected to Canada being portrayed as in protest." What is meant by the 'and objected to Canada being portrayed as in protest' part? Red Fiona (talk) 09:11, 10 October 2020 (UTC)

Canada was accused of being unsportsmanlike by other countries because of the suspensions. I have reworded the sentence slightly. Flibirigit (talk) 13:40, 10 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
