Information gap

[edit]

I think that there could be more information added to this article. There is so little being said that it's not worth having an article in the first place. I don't think any other characters have articles anyway BylethTheProgenitorGod (talk) 10:09, 15 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I strongly agree. This page is missing a lot of information. I'm very thankful that Claude doesn't have a Wikipedia page, because it would have turned horrible and will probably be written in a bad faith.

Hi, I would like to edit this page and put more information in, there could be some more yo read in the artie and I intend to put it there. Thanks!

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. I would suggest just writing what you want to add here so someone else can edit it into the article until you are autoconfirmed. Caius G. (talk) 11:45, 15 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Make one for Dimitri Alexandre Blayddid?

[edit]

Is is alright to make an article for Dimitri Alexandre Blayddid? Because he's just as popular as Edelgard. --Vesperia08 (talk) 02:06, 3 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It doesn't seem like the other house leaders got the same amount of critical coverage. It would probably be fine enough for someone to make a List of Fire Emblem: Three Houses characters with them in it, but I am doubtful they would merit standalone articles.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 10:23, 3 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Isn't this ref info about figurine here [1] notable to add Edelgard's article? Also, it seems Byleth has a chance would merit standalone article. 49.149.116.86 (talk) 12:10, 3 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I think Byleth would absolutely be able to merit an article. You are free to start one if you wish, with references of course. Also, the figurine is already in the article under "Merchandise".ZXCVBNM (TALK) 21:20, 3 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Really? From what I have been finding, Dimitri is extremely popular and has taken the #1 spot in several popularity polls. Again, creating a page for Dimitri was just a suggestion I made.--Vesperia08 (talk) 21:12, 3 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Popularity doesn't seem to equal press coverage. Edelgard's unique story twist and her controversial route made her more of a focus for game journalists. Dimitri is the closest to 'standard Fire Emblem lord' so he didn't get as much attention. Similarly, Chrom from FE: Awakening could be said to be rather popular, but there are not enough reliable sources to make his article pass WP:GNG (as far as I can tell). But if you can actually find said sources, there is definitely a chance I might be wrong.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 21:20, 3 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't. Edelgard's page is already horrible and unnecessary, don't let Dimitri have the same treatment. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.129.67.127 (talk) 23:29, 19 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

No, the amount of coverage is not enough to warrant a Wikipedia article. And the links you listed does not have enough notability as well. DarkFallenAngel (talk) 02:07, 4 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This page is poorly written

[edit]

This page is poorly written, and someone just removed all of her information in the Fictional Biography section and made it worse. Where does the statement that Edelgard serves as an "archenemy" and "foil" to Dimitri come from? This is original research. Also, please remove the part of her being the primary/secondary antagonist and antihero per Manual of Style. I really have no idea why Edelgard has a Wikipedia page. It's written all over the place.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.129.67.127 (talk)

The information was removed per MOS:PLOT as plot summaries/fictional biographies should be concise as possible. She has a Wikipedia page because she is a notable character, per WP:GNG.
I don't believe film rules apply, because, unlike in a film, Edelgard is an enemy boss character, so there is no question that she is a main antagonist. Otherwise, if you have an issue with it, WP:SOFIXIT. As with every other Wikipedia article, you are encouraged to improve it if you believe it is bad in some way.
Please note that since Wikipedia is not FANDOM, articles must be laid out in a way that is more orientated towards general readers and not being an exhaustive resource for fans. That is what the FANDOM article is for.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 00:04, 20 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

But where is the source that says she's Dimitri's foil and archnemesis? And an anti-hero of Crimson Flower?

"Lists of characters lacking secondary sourcing: Following from the above, excessive in-game details on characters is strongly discouraged. Standalone lists of video game characters are expected to be (1) written in an out-of-universe style with a focus on their concept, creation, and reception, and (2) cited by independent, secondary sources to verify this information. While character lists can include some plot summary specific to the character, these plots should not be rehashes of the video game(s) in which they appear but instead broad strokes that simplify the plots of individual games. If these requirements cannot be met, it is instead more appropriate to reduce the list to one to three paragraphs of prose within the "Plot" or "Synopsis" section of the game or series article. It is almost never appropriate to create a standalone list of characters that appear within a single video game as these can be described in the game's article."

Take a look at the bold text, this page clearly lacks most of these.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.129.67.127 (talk) 01:39, 20 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I tried editing this page but I couldn't. Any reason why?— Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.129.67.127 (talk) 01:54, 20 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Well, since I can't edit this page, I'd like to make a request; please remove: "She serves as protagonist Dimitri's narrative foil and archenemy" and "she becomes the game's primary antihero" because these statements feel more like a personal opinion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.129.67.127 (talk) 14:08, 20 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

 Done. DarkFallenAngel (talk) 18:14, 20 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I have tweaked it to "deuteragonist" instead of "protagonist". The protagonist is and always will remain Byleth regardless of what you choose in the game.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 16:18, 21 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
