On raw before wrestlemania when all the mitb competitors where in the ring together matt refered to lita as edge's ex girlfriend.

They've broken-up Zerorules677 6:57, 09 April 2007 (UTC)

am i right or not?

Wasnt Edge a tag team champion with Rey Mysterio??

Do your own research. The Hybrid 23:47, 15 April 2007 (UTC)

Yes, he was seven time champion with Christian, twice with Benoit, once with Mysterio, once with Hogan and once with Randy Orton 21:04 13 April 2007

Not necessarily suggesting a move, but...

The opening text of this article clearly states that Adam Copeland is "better known by his ring name Edge." However, multiple move suggestions have been shot down. If he is "better known by his ring name, Edge" his article should be titled Edge (Wrestler). If he is not "better known by his ring name, Edge" it should state he works for World Wrestling Entertainment, where he competes under then ringname Edge.--ProtoWolf 01:15, 20 April 2007 (UTC)

Sex Addict?

Using the term "massive Sex Addict" seems to be more opinion than actual encyclopedic fact... I didn't remove it because I didn't know if there was actual research behind that or if someone's just having a bit of fun with us. I did uncapitalize it, though... 206.21.164.165 10:11, 29 April 2007 (UTC)

No, that was just vandalism. It has been removed. Nikki311 10:53, 29 April 2007 (UTC)

WM23

When Edge got a legdrop through the ladder at WM 23, he was unable to compete further in the match. Does anyone know if he was booked to win that match, instead of Kennedy? WWE probably had Edge defeat Kennedy for the MITB just to follow WM23's MITB script.

I believe Edge was still working with an injury when WrestleMania came, so they just wanted to get him out of the match quickly. Kennedy's MitB loss was due to an injury on his part that's going to require surgery and several months of recovery. Kennedy was originally booked to defeat The Undertaker tonight ('Taker is also suffering from an injury, which explains his title loss), but obviously those plans had to be scraped once he suffered his injury. Current champion/spoilers

I think spoilers should be removed and the heading of Current World heavyweight champion should also be removed until it airs on Friday night because The Undertaker also states that he's the current world champion.. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Rc Her (talkcontribs) 06:17, 9 May 2007 (UTC).

EDIT: They added spoiler for the undertaker too so removing is unnecessary now. Rc Her 06:18, 9 May 2007 (UTC)

It's not a spoiler because they already acknowledged it on ECW, as well as it being all over WWE.com. Once it's on TV, it's not a spoiler. It's unnecessary to even call it a spoiler in the article. What someone SHOULD do, however, is reevaluate the "now a part of the Smackdown brand" comment, because this hasn't been confirmed. And, quite frankly, the whole brand-extension thing doesn't matter any more. I mean, Matt Hardy has always been on the Smackdown "roster," but this hasn't stopped him from going as far as actually being a champion on Raw. VelvetKevorkian 06:49, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
I think this link will confirm that he's officially on the Smackdown brand. He was taken off of the Raw page earlier today & was moved to the Smackdown roster, obviously because they need a main event star since Undertaker, Batista & Mr Kennedy are injured. It also isn't a spoiler as they broke into ECW with a scroll saying Breaking News: Edge is the new World Heavyweight Champion & to go to wwe.com for more information. So officially the WWE created a spoiler for their own product.--Hndsmepete 22:05, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
Since WWE has already acknowledged the title change on their website and on ECW, Wikipedia precedent suggests we should remove the spoiler tags. Jeff Silvers 00:23, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
It's also in the official preview for Smackdown. I went ahead and fixed it, and please nobody change it back, it is in no way, shape or form a spoiler. VelvetKevorkian 03:38, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

There continues to be trouble over the adding of unnecessary spoiler tags.--ProtoWolf 22:24, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

Is there a reason for the links on Edge's page to be in a dark red/brown rather than the usual blue?

Yes. It means the subject of the link does not have a Wiki page. The red link leads to an edit where one can be created.Garistotle 20:09, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

Edge's horn pose

Should that be included in the article? Since he uses that a lot. And if you don't know what I mean, here I'll show you:

WWE Smackdown Versus Raw 2007

The official website for this game incorrectly have him as a 7 time Intercontinental Champion. Don't know if it make a difference, but hey I said it.--82.46.237.10 14:53, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

Held all major championships?

Now iv seen on Edge's article that he has held all the major championship from raw and smackdown. But the united states title was apart of WCW at the time, not the WWE. he won it in 2001 from kurt angle during the ECW/WCW invasion, but it wasn't from WWE! there wasn't even a brand extension until 2002, until 2003, that's when the u.s. title became active. But does the WCW u.s. title count as a WWE u.s. title? Dro Boy june 17, 2007 18:34.

wwe.com considers the lineage to be all for the same title (see here: http://www.wwe.com/inside/titlehistory/unitedstates/). At the time, the title was owned by the WWF since it had acquired the appropriate WCW assets, and Edge was an employee of WWF at the time, therefore there's no reason why he shouldn't claim to have held the US title. As far as I am aware he's never worked significantly for WCW, so there's no way it could have been an official WCW title, only an official WWF one. --Dave. 22:42, 17 June 2007 (UTC) (minor edit to facts)

So what you are saying Dave that in 2001, a WCW title count as a WWE title? But on the day he won it was on RAW agaist kurt angle, and then all titles were on both raw and smackdown, not smackdown. and on his article it say that the title was from smackdown. Dro Boy june 17, 2007 8:53

It doesn't really matter whether the title was won on Raw or on Smackdown - he's won the US Title. In 2001 when he won it, the Title was owned by WWF, it was only a WCW title in name. WWE considers the title to have consecutive lineage, but with a break from the time it was united with the Intercontinental Title (by Edge?) until it was re-instated as a "secondary" title on Smackdown. The primary titles have switched brands, so which brand the title "belongs" to is pretty much irrelevant. --Dave. 23:01, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

Married or not?

Just wondering if he truly divorceed Lisa Ortiz (or she divorced him as it may be) or if they are still together.(MgTurtle 04:23, 30 June 2007 (UTC)).

his current marital status is unclear. he hasnt confirmed that he divorced lisa, nor if they are still together. same thing about his current relationship with amy dumas, hasnt said if they have broken up or not. but the strange thing is, is that edge has been seen with his first wife alannah, and she accompanied him to the 2007 wwe hall of fame induction ceremony. so, unless edge himself states what his marital status is, we cant and shouldnt just speculate. Xchickenx 06:38, 30 June 2007 (UTC)

Like he's really gonna say anything. It doesn't matter at all who he's actually with. He's never gonna talk cause, knowing Edge as well as we think we do, he loves this. So we might as well give up on trying to figure it out. 63.215.27.134 19:36, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

Besides, when you think about it, he obviously remembers - and may never forget - the way his personal life was just totally thrown around by the company, Matt Hardy, and the fans as soon as they found out about his and Amy's affair. You can't blame him if he never does - or if he gets contract provisions made so that no one else can - come clean to the public about who he's with ever again. 63.215.27.143 08:27, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

His Girlfriend??

Hey, Its rumor that he's dating this WWE Diva in training Angel. Like its all over this website named "Bebo" but I'm not sure. I'm just going by what I'm reading. Check out her website. [[1]] or [[2]]

Do you think that he could be dating her????

you cant give information to wikipedia that is based on rumours.Xchickenx 11:58, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

King Edge The Awesome

'king edge the awesome' was only an onscreen nickname for edge when he won king of the ring in 2001. he never actually used it as a ring name, so im removing it from the statistics box.Xchickenx 04:53, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

Edge Injury

Apparently, Adam "Edge" Copeland has been injured, and has had to drop the World Heavyweight title. Can anyone verify this? Poison-System-X 22:17, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

We're following this, but can't confirm anything on Wikipedia until Smackdown airs on Friday night, despite the tapings taking place tonight.

I can verify it though. He's vacating it due to a pectoral muscle tear. Khali is rumoured to win the title, Batista will challenge (again) for the strap at GAB

Dr. R.K.Z 23:35, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

ONLY WWE.com or a a WWE TV show is a good enough source for this to go into the article. If it's announced at the Smackdown tapings tonight and not anywhere else, it must stay out of the article unitl Smackdown airs. No spoilers, rumors or speculation. Gavyn Sykes 23:52, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

I just put it on the Adam Copeland main page because of the WWE.com article.

Wweisreal 00:41, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

That is complete rubbish. Only when WWE airs? WWE says he is going out with the general manager of smackdown. WWE said Vince McMahon was dead. Do you realise that when WWE goes on air, it is a STORY? WWE should NEVER be used as factual information in any wrestling article when it comes to wrestlers personal lives including details such as injuries. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.203.111.30 (talk) 22:47, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
When an injury is kayfabe, it is blaringly obvious (See Cena vs. Umaga before RR06). This was a real injury sustained. They don't vacate titles due to KAYFABE injuries. Only a real, legitimate injury does that. Most of WWE.com is in kayfabe, but they are reliable for their own storyline-related issues and for things like suspensions and injuires. For personal lives though? No.

NEWS

It was just released on WWE.com that Edge was relinquise«hed from his title, due to injury. Further more, there will be a Battle Royal to determine the new champion

It's official. WWE.COM have also confirmed Khali is the world champion.

PWInsider is reporting that Edge is going to have surgery on his torn pectoral muscle and as of now is expected to be out of the ring for four months, placing him at a November return. Source: http://nodq.com/wwe/186733454.shtml

Most Decorated

Is it worth mentioning in the article that, not including the Hardcore Championship (due to the 24/7 rule), that Edge is the most decorated wrestler in WWF/E history? He's won 21 titles (including the WCW US title), which is more than others such as Triple H, Stone Cold, Hulk Hogan, etc, basically, everyone who I checked. What do you guys think?Kirby17 17:32, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

I would argue not, since if you have to specify an exclusion, it isn't very notable. "Most decorated" isn't a notable fact in itself anyway (since there is no specific definition as what counts as being "decorated"), and to me it sounds like he's had his curtains and carpets changed the most times! --Dave. 18:00, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

I think it should be added that he's the most decorated ACTIVE wrestler in the WWE, but as for the most decorated employee in the WWE, that would have to go to Jerry Lawler, who was something like 121 title reigns under his belt (though they're for smaller, Memphis based wrestling promotions, but he has title reigns in defunct wrestling promotions purchased by WWE, such as the AWA). I do think it should be noted, though, because the fact that it is mentioned that he has the record for most Tag Team Championship reigns. Plus, it has been mentioned by Jim Ross that Edge is one of the most decorated champions in WWE history. I think that the above rebuttal doesn't have a very good argument or reason not to. Winning every singles title in the WWE is a good enough definition under "decorated." —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.144.177.39 (talk) 01:27, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

Uh, Edge is NOT 5'10 hes usually billed at 6'5, 6'4 at the least. Some one change this. Why was it locked from new and un registered users if the "vandalism" is still there. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.7.161.195 (talk) 00:51, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for pointing that out. His WWE profile states he's 6'5 and 240lbs. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 22:38, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

just to add to that, edge has stated in many interviews and also in his autobiog that he is 6ft5, so he is indeed 6ft5. Xchickenx 06:03, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

Edge is not 240kg, he is 240lbs. ( http://www.wwe.com/superstars/smackdown/edge/bio/ ) 240kg is a weight for a person of big daddy V's size. So I changed from 240kg to 240lbs. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Chuubii (talkcontribs) 10:42, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

Latest Steroids Scandal

i am removing the information about the latest steroid scandal involving edge. the details surrounding the whole scandal is still sketchy and nothing has been confirmed as factual. edges name is linked to this because of the steroids he took when recovering from neck surgery (which, for the record, is already mentioned in the article). unless anything is confirmed in the near future, this information shouldnt be added. Xchickenx 06:11, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

Edge and Hogan

The article mentions nothing about their tag team title reign together. I can't be sure when it was, exactly, but I believe it deserves at least a passing mention. Gavyn Sykes 14:29, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

I remember it happening during the summer of 2002. I think it would make a great addition to the section covering his Wrestlemania VI attendance and support of Hogan to show more of a "full circle" journey. 71.139.161.165 (talk) 11:10, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

Edge the WWE U.S. Champion?

According to my records or the WWE's for that matter, Edge has never won the WWE version of the U.S. Title. So whomever put that Edge has won all six major titles in the WWE is wrong. Even though that the WCW version was still highly coveted, it is still false information.

Technically, he has won it in WWE. For whatever reason, WWE recognises all WCW US and Cruiserweight Champions in their history. But I know what you're trying to say.Kirby17 13:46, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

Edge wrestled as Damien Styker not Damon Striker

In Edge's very own autobiography, "Adam Copeland On Edge", he states, "I wrestled as Damien Stryker (my worst moniker to date) against Meng and Kevin Sullivan." (Page 75) The information listed on www.onlineworldofwrestling.com is incorrect.

edge surivor series and cyber sunday

should we put the edge cut a promo during cyber sunday PPV and he was talking about coming back to surivor series or should we put until surivor series SocialistRevolution 23:25, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

No, we shouldn't. Cutting a promo is not a reason to change an article, unless it is very influential. Also, we should wait until Survivor Series to see what happens and then say what happened. Bingo182 21:41, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

so when edge comes back at surivor seires we will put him and also he is on the the ppv poster so we could put that we he comes back, right. SocialistRevolution 23:10, 15 November 2007 (UTC)

Why Copeland?

The standard wrestler article style is to use their ring name (whether a single word or ring surname) after the initial reference to their birth name. Why is his birth surname used in this article? -- Kevin Browning 23:22, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

That's actually incorrect. It is correct to refer to the wrestler by their ring name in the sections about their on-screen persona and career. However, it is correct to use their birth surname when talking about the wrestler's personal life, off-screen issues, career before becoming known as their most famous ring name, and/or injuries. It helps separate the real-life from the scripted character and keeps the articles "out of universe". Nikki311 23:25, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

I see, thanks. By standard, I meant common, according to the articles I've seen. I suppose I can improve some articles now which only use their ring name, even in personal sections. -- Kevin Browning 01:19, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

Ryder & Hawkins

In order to avert a possible edit war, I think it would be appropriate to discuss the legitimacy of Ryder and Hawkins listed as managers to Edge.

As I see it, they are not his managers, they are actually subordinates. They take orders from Edge. They do not speak for Edge, they do not issue orders to Edge at all. Accompanying him to the ring and interfering in his matches does not qualify them as managers, else Hulk Hogan would have half of the nWo listed as his managers, as would Triple H with D-X and Evolution.  Hazardous Matt  15:04, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

I agree. They're not his managers, they're his lackeys. There's a difference. ♥NiciVampireHeart15:14, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
Now, I do find it notable that Edge is the leader of this faction, rather than being the usual tag team partner. Is there a way we can come to terms by listing Ryder and Hawkins as subordinates? Perhaps instead of listing them under "Managers" we list them under "Followers" or "Stablemates"?  Hazardous Matt  15:21, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
Correct. They accompany him to the ring, which does not equal manager. Read Manager (professional wrestling) for more info on the actual role of a manager. Nikki311 17:07, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
I disagree on tha manager page it clearly endorses full time wrestlers that watch the wrestler's back. That is exactly what Hawkins and Ryder are and do.JakeDHS07 (talk) 17:13, 14 March 2008 (UTC)JakeDHS07
That was written in the Managers vs. Enforcers section, a section arguing the difference between the two, as they are not the same thing. Nikki311 17:24, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
