To Cleaner-Uppers

[edit]

This article appears to have been computer-translated from the same article at German Wikipedia.[1 ] I can read bits of German so I'm trying to fix the dreadful prose that has resulted. Of course, these things take longer than you think. Schmitty120 22:33, 14 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

References

[edit]

I added an unreferenced flag. There are actually a few references (or at least external links), but they do not cover the full article, and they are not reliable or verifiable. Any source that claims to know for sure that he knew 68 languages, and that he mastered them all to perfection, is likely out of touch with reality. The external link from Weikopf makes this claim, at the same time as it gives a statement from himself at the age of 47 when he claims to be able to translate correctly into only seven foreign languages. The number 68 then implies that he learnt writing in 61 languages during the last sixteen years of his life, and that he kept all of them alive. I am willing to believe that only when I see what he has written. Mlewan (talk) 09:59, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Small Article for a Prolific Polyglot

[edit]

I cannot believe that such a prolific polyglot genius would have such a small article with so little information contained in its text!!! Terranovia360 (talk) 18:26, 1 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

He never sopke all those languages.

[edit]

With these prolific polyglots it is always the same: they are like saints, that is, they all lived in the past and now we cannot really check it. Nowadays, at present, when this type of knowledge can be checked, we find no one who comes even come close speaking languages correctly, not just a few sentences! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.109.203.72 (talk) 02:30, 15 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
