Jewish scientists category

[edit]

I been told by Relata refero, which constantly deleted the category above from the article, that I should cite a source in which Eric Maskin refer to himself as Jewish if I want to add the Jewish scientists category. I didn't find such a source yet (neither did I find an opposite source) - what do you think to be the best solution?--Gilisa 14:30, 15 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Leave the information out for now. Familiarize yourself WP:BLP as to the rules for categorizing living people (for example that self identification with the category by the subject is needed), then go out and do more research. See if you can find a source that meets our criteria. If not, don't categorize. Blueboar 14:39, 15 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

For some reason someone keeps taking him of the category even though i have managed to source it by a reliable site. Why is that?83.130.22.190 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.230.109.20 (talk) 19:51, 22 October 2007 (UTC) OK, if what i have sourced before wasn't reliable i hope that what i have sourced now is, just one question, how do you decide what source is reliable? now the thing is that the fact he is jewish would only be relevant to jewish sites, and they wouldn't just write that about anyone, because then they would also write that about people that are definatly not jewish. P.S. whoever is removing the category could at least discuss it here.80.230.109.20 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.230.24.45 (talk) 14:30, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Question, Please

[edit]

Should we add "on the editorial board of the MDPI Journal, "Games"?" http://www.mdpi.com/about/nobelists . Is this claim as dubious as it seems? If not, I can add it to the article. Thanks for any help! (Trolou) 06:07, 9 Feb 2010 (UTC)

Yes, the claim is dubious, but then again this guy is a shady character. 2A01:CB0C:CD:D800:D4E0:D8E8:2332:D003 (talk) 14:09, 27 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your comment - and opinion (unsupported?) - seems Eric Maskin is a Noble-prize winner without any such character concerns in his Wikipedia biography - WP:BLP may apply? - in any case - Stay Safe and Healthy !! - Drbogdan (talk) 16:08, 27 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I'm also in the process of attempting to secure permission for this one. I expect it will be easy (I'm friends with the photographer). --best, kevin [kzollman][talk] 20:55, 15 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
