Comments[edit]

  • I have made some small changes in the text can you check you are happy with them I have concerns over my British to your American English.
  • Some links need checking 2nd Infantry Division (redirect page) 2nd Division, 9th Armored Division (redirect page) 9th Division, Limburg
  • Koumas early life pre army is very sparse, but I can understand if nothing is available. It will not by itself stop promotion to GA, but may need expanding if you take this any further.
  • In the WWII section When the United States entered World War II, Kouma was trained as a Tank commander. seems a big jump from rookie to tank commander did he not serve as a private or something else before?
    • Clarified. It's not clear to me from the sources, so I just changed that to "Tank Crew Member"
  • Presumably the 2nd Infantry Division was not based in Japan? Its not clear in the article, hes stationed in Japan then has a home in Maine.
  • Not sure links for North and South Korea are needed only a suggestion.
    • I prefer to leave those in for people who aren't familiar with the conflict. —Ed!(talk) 13:35, 8 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Kouma opted to act as a rearguard then his patrol was ambushed. Does not read right, the rearguard would have been defensive ? while the patrol sounds like its attacking/advancing. Maybe replace with squad, platoon, section, or troop.
  • In the Medal of Honour citation section Kouma, along with Dodd and Pittman, were the first soldiers to be present for the presentation of their medals is that ever or just for the Korean War?
  • In the Citation note 1 need a cite.
  • Not sure there any need to link New York - there is a small village of the same name about three miles from where I am but doubt the two will be mixed up. Also Washington is not linked
  • Ecker, Richard E needs the publishing location added
  • Just a question not part of the review, I always thought Murphy was the most decorated soldier in the war?
    • It's almost a direct quote from the source, which is pretty recent. It's possible MacArthur or someone else won more accolades I suppose. —Ed!(talk) 13:35, 8 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Some very minor points but a good read and article already, awaiting your responses. Jim Sweeney (talk) 11:54, 6 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
