Where it states:-

"This film first came out in limelight during June 2017 when Priyanka Chopra was supposed to portray the leading character.[3] It was earlier titled Heera Mandi and Chopra confirmed in March 2019 that she is set to star in it.[4] However, she was replaced by Alia Bhatt in September 2019 and after getting a new title Gangubai Kathiawadi, filming began on 27 December 2019 but was halted in March 2020 due to COVID-19 pandemic which caused its postponement too.[5] The film which also features television personality Shantanu Maheshwari in his film debut became more big in June 2020 when Emraan Hashmi and Ajay Devgn bagged important cameo roles.[6] Bhatt resumed work on 6 October 2020 and wrapped up shooting in last week of November 2020.[7]"

The last sentence should say Bhansali, not Bhatt as the movie is being produced and directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. 82.36.204.67 (talk) 05:56, 22 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I removed this source because the article has been deleted https://www.pinkvilla.com/entertainment/box-office/decoding-economics-gangubai-when-will-sanjay-leela-bhansali-alia-bhatt-film-be-hit-1033153%3famp So I requesting you remove 160 cr budget number from the Gangubai Kathiawadi page Rtyggu (talk) 06:31, 2 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Rtyggu. The article is still live. There was error in the link which I fixed. -- Ab207 (talk) 06:37, 2 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Ok! But I don't know if Pinkvilla is reliable source or not. I mean in one article they said budget is 160 cr then in another article they said film is already box office hit even though it not even touch the hundred crore mark yet https://www.pinkvilla.com/entertainment/box-office/box-office-alia-bhatt-delivers-tenth-successful-film-her-career-sanjay-leela-bhansali-s-gangubai-1035353?amp Rtyggu (talk) 06:42, 2 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
That's a good question, Rtyggu. Please see WT:ICTF#Reliability of Pinkvilla where the consensus is that Pinkvilla does a better research on films compared to general news outlets. Coming to the budget equation, Pinkvilla asserts in the budget source that Gangubai earned 65 crore from Netflix, 30 crore from the satellite rights. and around 20 crore from music rights. That means the film must target 60 crore from theatrical revenue which an equivalent of 160-165 crore of WW gross, or 85 crore net from India. Both these are articles are consistent with each other.
On the other hand, the India Today article you cited, traces the figure to money control which says "Made on a budget in excess of Rs 100 crore." They were giving a rough figure, and possibly not WP:INDEPENDENT of the film lead actress, as the article is largely made of quotes from her. -- Ab207 (talk) 06:58, 2 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Ankitsalsa14, We have to keep the range there because some reliable sources also reported the budget ₹100 crore. For example the money control reported the budget ₹100 crore and India Today quoted it on their article. You are right that Pinkvilla is a reliable source as per WP:ICTFSOURCES but not only Pinkvilla is reliable but IndiaToday and Money Control both are considered to be reliable source. That's why I reverted your Good Faith edits. Hope you understand Grabup (talk) 05:34, 21 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Bollywood Hungama stated the budget to be 180 crores. Box office india confirmed the budget to be 181 crores. Both of them are being called illegitimate by one user. There have been articles from from Pinkvilla confirming budget to be 175 crore, which is a reliable source. However the same user is not acceptable to the same user and it is adamant on one article from moneycontrol without following any factual discussion. I am doubtful how to accept this plagiarism in good faith when the intention of the user is so obviously questionable. Please dont revert back changes without consensus or without legitimate backing. Ankitsalsa14 (talk) 05:40, 21 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Ankitsalsa14, First of all, you should add references before mentioning these facts. Bollywood Hungama mentioned that it was Made on a budget of Rs. 175 to 180 crores, It is also in a rang. And for your knowledge, I want to tell you that as per WP:ICTFSOURCES, Box Office India should be ignored totally when other reliable sources are found. And yes, if you want to add 180 crore to the article, you are welcome, but you are not allowed to remove the rang because other reliable sources have mentioned other numbers. Budget

[edit]

Hwllo , As per Box Office India , the budget of Gangubai Kathiawadi is 180 Crores, so we should mention that instead of writing 100-160 which is from different different sources Rhea786656 (talk) 21:02, 13 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Rhea786656, As per WP:ICTFSOURCES boxofficeindia should be totally ignored if other reliable sources are found because it includes advertisement and printing costs, which other sources don't. I hope now you know the reason why your edits were reverted.Grabup (talk) 01:46, 14 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
