Untitled 1[edit]

Why the claim of Tamil Kavarai community imposed on Telugu Gavara community? There is no relation between both.

Untitled 2[edit]

Are there sangams that promote the welfare of Gavaras worldwide? If not highly resourceful persons with good accrediton and highly qualified persons from Tamil Nadu and Andhra can form one. Gavara Naidus are Balija Naidus(Kapus/Telagas= According to Thurston Gavara Naidus (Kavarais) are Balija Naidus.In Tamil Nadu there is no difference between Gavara Balija Naidus and Gajula Balija Naidus as both are branches of Balija caste and matrimonial relations are very common between the two branches . Both of these branches worship Gowri .May be there is a missing link between Gavaras of A.P and Gavara(Kavarai) Balija Naidus of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. The Gavaras of Vijaya nagaram and Visakhapatnam might have been the stranded or settled people of Gavara Balija Naidu caste following Krishna Devaraya's expedition to Orissa. It is a well known fact that Balija Naidus belong to Warrior/Trading caste and many Nayaks(Chieftains) had emerged from this caste. As per Thurston Vijaya nagar,Madurai and Thanjavur kings were Balija Naidus.Madurai kings of Balija Naidu caste established kingdoms in Srilanka (Kandy dynasty) and so many Balija caste people migrated to Srilanka during the period of Kandy dynasty from Tamil Nadu.Some of these Balija Naidus had relocated in other countries once the Kandy dynasty rule ended .It is interesting to know that Gavaras of Northern circars might have been the people migrated from Srilanka as per the new school of thought. All in all it appears that Gavaras of Northern Circars are nothing but the Gavara Balija Naidus of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka and a dedicated research would greatly help in this regard.Lot of sur names and Gotrams of Gavaras of A.P and Balija Naidus (Gajula/Gavara)/Kapus/Telagas would coincide and a good number of sur names end with "Setti".It is more appropriate to include Gavaras of Northern Circars in Balija Naidu /Kapu/Telaga category than in Vysya category as alleged by some people. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.180.35.157 (talk) 00:24, 7 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Kavarai's/Gavara Naidus of Tamil Nadu are a Branch of Balija or Kapu/Telaga caste.... Apart frombothe the castes sharing a similar occupation of Trading... there is nothing in common with Gavaras of Coastal Andhra and Kavarais/Balijas of TamilNadu...The Kavarais are nothing but Gajula Balija Division of Balijas/Kapus....

The Gavaras of Andhra are more closely related to Vysyayas infact ....Edgar Thurston with all due repects wrote his Manuals sitting in Madras which cut him of from the Origins of Andhra Castes and did his reaserch moslty on settlements near Madras thats oneof the reasonhe treats Kapu and Reddy as oneand clubs every caste that has a Balija Suffix among them intoBalija Naidus...

The traditions and culture of Kavarasis donot mix with Gavara'sof Andhra... Also there are Matrimonial Alliances between Kavarais and Balij/Kapus buty not with Gavaras of Andhra... Kavarais also take up Agriculture and are Village Heads and carry the title Desai.... like Kapus.... But you donot see this in the Gavaras of Andhra.. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.169.182.202 (talk) 10:44, 11 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why all the previously lengthy article become few words of a single sentence? The community was mainly from northen andra district, but tge reference was from caste from tamil nadu... and nothing in the reference can be said to have any link with tge article except mentioning of existance of similar community in tamil nadu Sureshnaidu (talk) 00:30, 23 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Reverted to old version[edit]

I have reverted the article to a stable version that existed prior to the recent copyvios, edit warring etc. Although many contributions have been made in March, my checks of those where the cited sources were online suggests that those sources were being misrepresented and in many cases there was apparent synthesis.

I have no objections to any relevant, accurate bits being reinstated but we're going to have to do this slowly via discussion here and full disclosure of offline sources will probably be necessary. - Sitush (talk) 14:33, 30 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Why the entire articles become a few lines?[edit]

the entire list of gothra and intuperu are all missing along with myth claimed by community. The source for the articles were from gawara community websites.

Caste-affiliated websites are not considered to be reliable sources on Wikipedia. - Sitush (talk) 07:05, 27 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thuston did not said Vijayanagara kings were balijas. He just referred what was in the application given to Census Department by Balija leaders in 1901 in which they pleaded to recognize them as Kshatriya by giving some stories as evidence to their Kshatriya hood .Vijayanagara empire kings are not balijas as per their inscriptions and other contemporary literary sources .They, the Vijayanagara kings, declared their caste as Yadava. See this inscription issued by Srikrishnadevaraya ;

Merchant Community spread over south India to Kalinga[edit]

Kavarai is merchant community which mentioned in Chola Hero Stone inscription. Due to trade activity spread from Ancient Kalinga to Sri Lanka. They have many names like Kavarai in Tamil, Kavara in Malayalam, Gavara in Andra, Gavare in Karnataka and Gaura due to geographical and Linguistic background. All are trading background but different history and political background. Above mentioned all are same. It is stupid to say that they belong to particular language. Ancient Merchant Communities are multilingual. As far as historical records they speak all south Indian and Singla Languages. They called 18 District means they went and do business belongs 18 nations Padinenboomi of Ancient India and South east. Kalinga is one part of the Nation. That is why some Gavara are called Kalingas. Rajasekar (talk) 09:56, 19 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

One side proclaim[edit]

Gavaras refers to a relatively small komati community. They are attempting to conceal and isolate the Gavaras/Kavaras who went to Tamil Nadu as warriors, traders, and agriculturalists. Gavara is the monarch of the Thirumalai Nayakar and Vijayarenga Nayakar dynasties in Tamil Nadu. In Tamil Nadu alone, the population of Kavaras and its subcastes is approximately 14%. Don't try to make up a history that is more convenient for you. 2601:188:CA82:CD80:68AF:2C13:A447:3DEE (talk) 15:53, 15 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
