Re: addition of content about Trump's "LGBT's for Trump" sign

Resolved

Is this worth nothing? It's not specifically about the organization Gays for Trump. Or, if there is a connection, the current wording does not make this clear. ---Another Believer (Talk) 16:17, 29 June 2017 (UTC)

Update: The info was removed by this edit, which I support. ---Another Believer (Talk) 16:29, 8 July 2017 (UTC)

Hello

why the Page is so short?, there any other source to add?.--Bolzanobozen (talk) 11:29, 27 August 2017 (UTC)

Contested deletion

Feel free to start an AfD discussion, but I don't think speedy deletion is appropriate. ---Another Believer (Talk) 23:43, 4 March 2018 (UTC)

I agree; the sources in the article are sufficient to demonstrate that it does not meet criterion A7. If someone wants the article to be deleted, they can use WP:PROD or WP:AFD. The IP user who has been re-adding the speedy deletion tag has violated this article's arbitration remedies and should stop. —Granger (talk · contribs) 02:43, 5 March 2018 (UTC)

Please add Peter Boykin as Founder and President

I have already made the edit but it was then changed back. Peter Boykin is the Founder and should be listed in the article and not just as a footnote on the far right. If you are going to say "Scott Presler is an activist for Gays for Trump" then should you not also indicate in the article that the founder and President of the organization?7valentine7 (talk) 06:11, 21 January 2020 (UTC)

7valentine7,  Done I did not find your other changes to the article constructive, but I've added back brief mention of Boykin to the introduction. ---Another Believer (Talk) 06:34, 21 January 2020 (UTC)

Thank you it makes sense to have him back in the article 7valentine7 (talk) 07:20, 21 January 2020 (UTC)

Why was Peter Boykin Removed from the Page Linking to him being the President of Gays For Trump?

Hi, Yes I am Peter Boykin I am still the President and Founder of Gays for Trump so why was this edited to no longer state this fact? I think it might be because some of the cites you previously had on the page were removed? I am trying to get a wiki page of my own so I would prefer at least to be still included in a page that I founded at least. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.118.44.201 (talk) 23:30, 29 October 2019 (UTC)

All one has to do is look in the history and it clearly stated that Peter Boykin is the President of Gays For Trump, I would request that it be put back in but as Founder of Gays for Trump, the cofounder is also my other half David Smith as well. Also above this section shows where the references were taken out that referred to articles that had me in it that proved who I am and what relation I have to this group. Is it possible for this to be looked into? I am not an expert of Wiki language. can someone step in and help? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.118.44.201 (talk) 22:15, 30 October 2019 (UTC)

  Clarification requested

  • The question asks why a certain claim was removed from the article. However, it was not stated when that claim ever existed in the article.
  • Please provide a WP:DIFF showing (a) when the claim was added, and (b) when the claim was removed. When ready to proceed with the requested information, kindly change the {{request edit}} template's answer parameter to read from |ans=yes to |ans=no. Thank you!

Update: I've located the diffs. Boykin was listed as president of the group in March 2017, a claim which was removed in December 2017 when a new president of the group was chosen. A claim of being founder was first made in June 2018, where it appeared in the prose and in the infobox's |founder= parameter. The infobox was eventually removed; the reasons for its removal are unknown. The only references I could find from that time period confirming that Boykin was the founder were the Washington Blade and Newsweek. You asked earlier if these changes "could be reverted". The simple answer is no — reverting the text cannot be done. A request to add the information anew should be posted here. I hope the information provided above helps in formulating that request. Please note that requests to add information to the article (or in this case, to revise it) should contain the verbatim text that is desired to be added, the verbatim text that is to be removed, the location in the text where the revised claim is to be placed, and the properly formatted references accompanying the claim along with a new {{request edit}} template all placed here on the talk page. An example for how this should be done is shown below:

Sample edit request

1. Please remove the third sentence from the second paragraph of the Sun section:

"The Sun's diameter is estimated to be approximately 25 miles in length."

2. Please add the following claim as the third sentence of the second paragraph of the Sun section:

"The Sun's diameter is estimated to be approximately 864,337 miles in length."

3. Using as the reference:

Paramjit Harinath (2019). The Sun. Academic Press. p. 1.

4. Reason for change being made:

"The previously given diameter was incorrect."

Request edit

  • Please add the following claim as the second sentence of the first paragraph of the Top section:

  1. "Peter Boykin Serves as Founder and President.[1]

  • Using as the reference:

  • Someone changed the name in the next revision it appears as a joke, and a few revisions after that it was removed
  • I believe that these Sources do serve a good purpose, as stated previously they served as Notability: isn't Wiki ran on proper Sources?
  1. Please add the following Sources back to the Sources section:

Official Facebook page

@Jonesey95: Are you sure this is the group's official Facebook page? This doesn't look very official to me. ---Another Believer (Talk) 01:55, 26 March 2017 (UTC)

Yeah, maybe not. It looked pretty legit when I scrolled through it, but the author, whose name I did not see in any media coverage of the group, is affiliated with Breitbart somehow and is not the group's president. I removed it. – Jonesey95 (talk) 01:58, 26 March 2017 (UTC)
Thanks for double checking! ---Another Believer (Talk) 01:59, 26 March 2017 (UTC)
Hi I know I am not supposed to make changes to this page due to COE: but if someone wants to add the official facebook page its
https://www.facebook.com/GaysForTrumpOrg and our Group on Facebook is Closed to the Public is http://www.facebook.com/groups/gaysfortrump/
also our website is http://gaysfortrump.org if anyone wants to add this in.
Also if anyone needs more references to show this page is legit at our website there is media page that is FULL of them.
I don't think Facebook links are allowed, but I added the official website to the External links section. ---Another Believer (Talk) 16:11, 11 April 2017 (UTC)
