Untitled[edit]

Currently, there exists two Wikipedia articles: Giuseppe Morello and Peter Morello. Both articles are seemingly about the same individual -- a mafiosi with a one-fingered hand who died in August 1930. I suggest a merge. Flask (talk) 08:05, 16 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This really should be merged with Giuseppe because they were the same man...The information is of Giuseppe. Pietro was just the false name he gave as a cover.
I have redirected Peter Morello to Giuseppe Morello. See Mike Dash, The First Family, Simon and Schuster, 2009, pp. 330–1. "Masseria would be accompanied by [Giuseppe] Morello, whom the Castellammarese knew as Peter Morello – 'Don Petru' – an alias he adopted since leaving prison." Boss of bosses[edit]

Nick Gentile wrote that Guiseppe Morello was capo dei capi, so there is better documentation that Morello held this position than for almost any other mobster in the succession history. In many cases, "boss of bosses" is a media byword for "gangster No. 1". But in Morello's case, it was semiofficial title. Kauffner (talk) 09:09, 29 June 2010 (UTC) But Morrello had been in lot of trouble for the barrell murder and other charges, it seemed wise two split into two, because if the police could get a crackdown on morrello, than the evidence against the black-hand would be easier. Although, he wasn't the boss of bosses, but the right hand of Joe the boss, Giuessppe Marsaria —Preceding unsigned comment added by 113.199.248.219 (talk) 06:16, 27 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Antonio Morello not his brother[edit]

I dont known if any of this is real?

Giuseppe's eldest brother Antonio Morello, known as Tony Morello, had arrived in New York at an unknown date some years before Giuseppe. Some historians believe Tony and Giuseppe Morello to have been cousins and not brothers. Tony Morello was running illegal rackets in the predominantly Italian community of East Harlem, New York. Tony was a Sicilian Mafia member and one of the earliest extortionists to establish himself in New York City. Tony had a bad temper, and was a rude and a very violent man which led to his murder by shotgun in 1898. Some say he was killed by business enemies, but it was also claimed in the media that the murder was over a woman. Giuseppe, the more clever of the Morellos, took over Tony's business after his death, even though his brother Nicholas was older than him. --Vic49 (talk) 23:53, 18 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
