Name[edit]

Suggest that this article be moved to "Grand Texas Entertainment District" (copyright name) or "Grand Texas Sports & Entertainment District" The theme park is part of the district. The water park, sports venues, etc are also part of the district. The water park is not part of the theme park as mentioned in the article. Postoak (talk) 13:49, 2 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Can you offer any references to justify the name change? I wonder if people will commonly refer to the park as "Grand Texas Theme Park", "Grand Texas Entertainment District", or really just "Grand Texas". I think our time might be better spent expanding the article, especially if, like you said, there are inaccuracies. Perhaps eventually there will even be separate articles for the park and the district... --Another Believer (Talk) 02:58, 3 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, official link is here. [1] or [2]. The theme park is just one component of the district. Why have separate articles when one article can have sections dedicated to each district component? Postoak (talk) 19:31, 3 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Here's another: [3]. "Grand Texas Sports and Entertainment District" appears to be the best name for the article.
I would suggest that this article be limited to only information about the park itself, and a new article be created for Grand Texas Sports and Entertainment District, which could include sections for:
  • Grand Texas Theme Park
  • Big Rivers Water Park
  • Ballpark of Montgomery County
  • DownTown Texas
  • Montgomery County Event Center
  • Grand Texas Sportsplex
  • Hospitality Village
  • Shady Oaks RV Resort
I agree with you that there should be one Entertainment District article with sections for each, but I also think the theme park will be large enough (speaking in terms of article content here, not just the size of the park itself) to have a standalone article. Rather than move/rename this page, reconstruct, then just create another theme park page in the future, let's just create the Entertainment District article now and have the theme park article be forked off... Thoughts? Thank you for starting this discussion. I predict that, overtime, the E.D. article will serve as a parent article that directs readers to subarticles for several of these sites. --Another Believer (Talk) 22:05, 3 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Please see the new article I created, and please consider both articles under construction works in progress. Right now, only the district's own sources is used as a reference, which I understand is far, far from ideal, but I plan to continue working on these and please feel free to contribute! --Another Believer (Talk) 01:25, 4 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Looks good! I'll try to contribute soon. I haven't participated that much the past few years because of work and personal stuff. Thanks, Postoak (talk) 07:11, 5 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
