A fact from Guardians of the Dawn appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 17 February 2017 (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:
Did you know... that some fighters of the Guardians of the Dawn describe themselves as "mujahideen of the cross"?
After objections from Applodion about applying the {{refimprove}} tag, I added the {{one source}} to the article. The article relies solely on a blog post by the author Aymenn Jawad Al-Tamimi on the website of Joshua Landis. I looked up Joshua Landis and he is a legitimate expert (professor in the field of Middle East studies), but still the website seems to be of a blog/personal nature, and it's not clear how much editorial control or fact-checking is applied to the writing. I think, ideally there should be independent sources that corroborate this. HaEr48 (talk) 04:35, 21 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
HaEr48: I can agree with that. Sadly I don't speak Arabic, otherwise I would have added more sources to the article. Applodion (talk) 10:26, 21 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
